Found this company making fire safety bunkers and storage vaults that are built to at least Vic building code standards which are designed to survive a decent busfire. Could be repurposed for storage etc. Bit pricey though, but what hardcore prep dosen't cost and arm and a leg.

several people in victoria died in their home made shelters in 2013. i donti believe that article. an open door means death by smoke inhalation. maybe they got lucky? the best defence is a good fire protection zone and as frostbite observed don't build among the scrub. grass can be just as bad. fires can spread much quicker in a grass fire then normal eucalypt forest.

lucky. in the right conditions spot overs are a killer/property destroyer. those pilots did a good job not to damage your structure considering how close the fire got and how fast it was probably moving.

looks like they're WA based, definitely not on any of my short term plans but might be worth a visit out of curiosity

downunderbunkers.com.au looks like they're WA based, definitely not on any of my short term plans but might be worth a visit out of curiosity The main video on their home page cracked me up. Because every bunker needs several cardboard boxes of "fresh lettuce".
