In a 'supply scarce' situation one can soak an infected cut in Tomato juice/pulp and then apply a little lemon juice after rinsing off. Anyone who's ever made de-skinned large amounts of tomatoes when making sauce might have noticed how extraordinarily clean their hands are after they are rinsed off - I'm talking 'chemical peel' clean. I think I read somewhere tomato juice has enzymes in it that dissolve dead skin. So tomato juice/pulp dissolves anything necrotic in the wound and lemon juice kills germs. that sounds excruciatingly painful, not that certain people on this thread would care haha ...but not as painful as a major infection...

Yep. It definitely smarts. But no more than putting alcohol on a wound.
