Hi all, i am seeking out expressions of interest in anyone in or around these areas (or even further away if you would like to attend), that might like to attend a workshop night on Preparedness, Survivalist, Permaculture, Homesteading, Self Sufficiency topics.
Nothing has been locked in as of yet, however, i do have folk who are experienced in a variety of fields that will be bringing forth presentations.
If your possibly interested in turning up to something unofficial, having a cuppa and an easy day or night event and possibly meeting some great people who might be able to aid or advantage you in some way in your ways, please let me know.
Equally, if you feel you have something to contribute or suggestions please feel free to let me know. thanks

Depending on when it is I'd be interested in popping over to say G'day. According to Google Horsham is only 4 and a half hours for me if I cut across the river on the ferry which makes the trip a possibility for sure. Very interested in new ideas on all the topics listed but particularly on the survivalist side of things. Regardless of the format you end up with I'd be keen to come meet a few people down that way, always good to expand the network.

Para if you were coming over mate id have you taking a workshop bud, your full of good info many of us would benefit from, ill keep you posted as to how things go over time if we get enough support. I see this type of stuff as being able to take our interests to the next level of practical and be able to make a real difference in helping a lot more people as well as the next generation if it gets enough support.

At the moment i was considering a Saturday some time for a couple or few hours. Family event, child friendly, no bad language in presentations. I have a decent hall out in the middle of nowhere available for the event.
1st workshop event is a BOB show and tell. 15-30 minute presentation. Someone brings their BOB and breaks it down on a table and talks about why they have it, and why they have packed it with what they have. They can then take questions from the crowd and discussion and thought is promoted, as well as preparedness brought into the field it exists contrary to many adverse opinions, that being 'smart!'
2nd workshop event is on Bee Keeping 40-50min. I have a apiarist and a number of people keeping bees available to take the presentations.
3rd workshop event is on an aspect of Building in todays climate with specifics focused on australia, regulations and the aspect of fear in relation to such. Interesting topic. I have a prepper friend who has built numerous houses, worked as a trady, has been alive a lot longer than me and is very intelligent in this respect. 50minutes.
None of these would be comprehensive of course, as time would not permit, however, the idea is to stimulate conversation and ideas, hve folk get questions answered, and all of which hopefully would lead into more interest in the subjects and more workshops.
I have an old blacksmith, solar nuts, electronics/airforce vets, goat keepers, farmers and more who might consider taking a workshop as well. The list could go on and on as to the topics we could run classes on.
So just some thoughts and hopefully people make some good contacts and or learn heaps and have fun, bit of social as well, bartering, possibilities as well.

Love to come Bit of a trip for us gippslanders but nothing beats a meet u in person A formal teaching / presentation programme would be good Our meetups tend to try to do this but degenerate into beer fuelled conversations!!!

That sounds fantastic. Getting to the opposite side of the country will take some work from me (especially as I've just cashed out all my annual leave)...

I wasnt expecting interest from some of you folk who are a bit away, but thank you, it would be great to have you all.
I now wonder if we should make it more of a day event and organise accomodation?
I can forsee something such as this becoming like the caravan and camping show in the future, but Prepping, self sufficiency. It would be a real buzz to be able to bring out folk from all over the world to speak and or teach train etc, as well as see companies that have all sorts of equipment and inventive ideas for off grid and survivalist stuff.

Cmon Aus You and several others we have met have a heap to offer in training Even though it seems basic too you- some of your skills are new and exciting to others Even if others share your areas of expertise - it just creates more discussion !!

If it's a one-day event, I can arrange something. Heck, I'd be thrilled to give a workshop on old-school food preservation (fermentation and curing) just to show how easy it is.
Most importantly, SWMBO has just given me permission. FREEDOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
