All that over increased fuel costs. Wow. Sometimes small things are the tipping point for something much bigger. France has been on edge for years now, somethings gotta give.

The fuel tax certainly seems to be the straw that breaks the camels back. It will be interesting to see if this rioting spreads further. They had some action in Belgium yesterday as well. I wonder if this could be the moment Europe goes 'full revolt'?
If Macron does something really dumb like orders police and military to open fire on people with live rounds ... the S will really HTF.
Funny though ... I have an acquaintance in France who reckons riots are 'normal' over there.

I try to avoid cross posting, but in view of this thread - I posted this on the NZ prep site Saturday night.....
In Paris for work. knew was going to be some protests. Completely under estimated size and scale. Stayed away from focus of protests - but police pushed them towards river and I suddenly had hundreds of yellow vested protesters all around me, closely followed by tear gas and a water cannon. Police didn’t care tourists were getting mixed in. Big proportion of protestors - both left and right wing were antagonising the police. Scary stuff, shit situational awareness from me - important lessons. Should have stayed in hotel for day. Traffic grid locked. No Uber or taxis for love nor money. Should have foreseen it was something big and libel to move when saw police deployments and road closures earlier in the day. Protests and riots are unpredictable
..........
Interestingly the next day it was like nothing had happened.

You dribbled a bib full Spin...to the French it'd be just another day...an interesting country, crawling with whinging bastards and extremists who like throwing rocks but won't lift a finger to suggest an answer to a problem...to them anarchy is fun! Christ Napoleon had to start a world war to unite them!

It looks like Canada is about to have a replay of the riots in France. People are getting genuinely pissed off with their so-called governments...
