My drinks fridge is only going down to 12C on the coldest setting it has. The freezer compartment still works fine.
Unfortunately it's probably cheaper to replace the fridge than get it repaired.
Is this easily fixable? Not something I've ever worked with before, I'm afraid...

Could likely be a thermostat issue (no major), but also could have a gas leak in which case would be cheaper to grab a 2nd hand replacement

It's about 4 years old, so not old at all. It's a Whirlpool, so not an el-cheapo brand. I'd expected it to last a bit longer.
Mrs Pete says it's a good reason to have less beer in the house. I say it's a good reason to upgrade...

Some good fridge buys out there atm. Have a look at www.appliancesonline.com.au/Our drinks fridge went same way as your Peter, ended up with a good deal on a new 540L F&P from Good Guys. And now its still not big enough for this xmas with 2 dozen rellos coming for lunch. Actually we exchanged fridges this year for xmas, I bought the new drinks fridge and the mrs she got me a new Waeco fridge for the 4x4

If the freezer is working fine there is most likely nothing wrong with the mechanicals of your fridge.
It'll be the thermostat sensor for the fridge compartment. I had one replaced on a Westinghouse after just 8 months. Mine was located behind a panel at the back of the interior of the fridge and it's possible to replace yourself based on my observations of the bloke who replaced mine.
Fun fact: Warranties mean less than people think. We have pretty good legally mandated standards in Oz. A 4 year fridge should still be working without hassles so even if the papers with it say 2 or 3 years if you press the claims department they'll have to fold. They usually do.
I had a 40 year old kelvinator as a shed fridge that was perfect. Stupidly I sold it when I moved house. I bet its still going strong with its current owner.

I have no idea how much power they consumed but my word was the beer cold when you got home from work. Things were built to last back then...

I am in a rented unit during the week. My fridge did the same thing. The repair guy said he lubricated the fan that blows air from the freezer section. It worked fine for 3 weeks. Conked in again, phoned repair guy today, he said he will replace the fan and if can't find a local replacement will have to replace fridge.
So check the fan that circulates the air from the freezer section , might be an easy fix.

Just spoke to the fridge repair guy again after checking my fridge yesterday. He said the fan was working but the drainage hole was blocked and iced up, all is needed is for the fridge to be defrosted and it will be working normally again.
Another thing to try is defrost the fridge with doors open then put it on again and it might just be working.. I think with the summer heat the fridge works overtime and might be the cause of all the air transfer systems getting iced up.
