Peter: Apparently an algae bloom in Perth's Swan River is a big problem. It has been advised that no fish/crustacean/molluscs from the river are to be consumed for risk of serious poisoning.

WolfDen: Damn, that must have happened fast. Wonder where? Read article a month ago, Maylands/Bayswater sections, where I live, were voted the best sections of the Swan River for cleanliness and quality of water.

norseman: I've read the manifesto and viewed the footage. He was no "nutter" he knew what he was doing! Not condoning his actions but you can see why the politicians and lefties are trying to shut down any alternate discussion of this tragic event!

Beer! Yesterday we started making our own beer ... we feel better prepared already Also added an 8kva generator to our independence kit the other day ... would have liked it to be diesel and may eventually find one of those but for the time being it's petrol. Looking forwards to building our solar system this year.
Made a replacement self locking Cray snare out of stuff I had laying around. Curtain rod, brake cable from an old bike, an old 2 cent coin and a short piece of copper pipe. This time I painted it day-glo pink so when I drop it in the weeds its easy to find. This one has detachable, multi-position noose to help access to the most awkward crevices and holes.
Have mastered the art of making good felafel out of the chickpeas I collected a few weeks ago.
Serviced the car today. Saved a wad of cash in doing so. Put up shade sails on the western side of the house to keep the heat load down and save on power. I usually do that mid December but lapsed a bit this year.
Anyone got any good uses for used diesel engine oil? I've already painted all the fence posts around the home block twice!
I'd like to use it to fuel a forced air oil burner on my forge but not sure how to go about it yet.
