So folks I heard a rumour awhile back that the AFP had blocked the US forum known as ar15.com in Australia, I thought it was typical www. style bullshit and didn't pay too much attention. Just went over there to look at the latest "Practical Rifle" / "Scout Rifle" topics for images to post here and guess what, the site is blocked!! This country and the **** that run it really are starting to push the limits when it comes to stealing our freedom from us!!
Yep CONFIRMED!!! check this:-

I don't have any issue accessing that website. WolfDen Do you think it could depend on who your Web / Email host is possibly?

I suppose it could be the service provider doing it. You might be able to work around it using a privacy browser like Epic. Download it and give it a go.

During the recent Christchurch incident there were temporary bans on a number of websites either hosting or that could potentially host the streamed material. Good reasons for this are protecting children and reducing the ability for the material to be used to glorify the actions of the perpetrator.
I have no issue with this and have the ability to get around this if I really wanted to view said material.
As was done in the posted video, if you have problems getting to a website contact your ISP and have a chat to them about it. Sometimes we cant load pages for various reasons, best to confirm things before jumping at shadows.

OK just got myself a VPN! Can now get on to all blocked sites again except my default location is currently San Francisco which is a bit Gay for my liking I'd much rather Texas, but anyway I'm good to go! Thanks for your help folks! If any of you AFP, ASIO or other assorted Feds have issues monitoring my stuff just let me know and I'll assist where I can!

Can't see why the AFP want to ban access to AR15.com when plenty of aussies can still legally own them.

No issues here. Didn't need the VPN.
Its one thing to block sites that allow the downloading of illegal media such as movies but its entirely different to block legitimate sites just because they are firearms related. Lucky for them they didn't as I'm sure the SFF would have been interested to hear about it.

Hi Folks!
Just got through talking to a bloke who "Works For The Government" got some amazing intel! So it's incredibly scary the amount of web stuff that is blocked in Australia!
A few points:-
1) A VPN does not protect your privacy from the Gubbermint and Public Serpents! Their technology allows them to view everything you do!
2) They actually use your VPN search activity to ID sites they then block!
3) They use your search / web viewing habits to further flag you (as if we didn't know that)!
4) They don't give a **** about your privacy (see above)!
5) It doesn't matter how innocent you are they don't give a toss! Nobody is considered innocent, in their eyes everyone is a criminal! You either go up the list if you are on it or you go on the list if you aren't!
6) Even the most inane web viewing (at least to you) is worthy of their attention!
And finally I told him I don't give a fying flark cause I'm not breaking any laws! Response:- "You don't need to be breaking any laws they don't care, but one day you might and that's why they are watching!!"

I use a VPM, instead of a VPN. It makes you harder to track, but the consequences can be more severe. Basically my internet connection is in the wife's name, so the cops are probably wondering why she keeps looking up weird donkey and alpaca sites. So in that regard I'm harder to track, but if they do ever arrest her I'll have a Very Pi@ ed Missus and the consequences will be much more severe than anything the leghumpers can do to me.

The great irony of the internet is it makes everyone feel 'anonymous'. When in fact ... it is the exact opposite of that.

The great irony of the internet is it makes everyone feel 'anonymous'. When in fact ... it is the exact opposite of that. Pretty sad really! Given that Gubbermints and their taxpayer funded servants usually get made famous for their gross incompetence and idiocy as opposed to their professionalism and operational brilliance, I reckon taxpaying, law abiding citizens should be allowed to spy on them in return! I say it should be legal for citizens to tap their phones and monitor their internet use! Although I doubt I could stomach the deviant porn and other filth they probably dial into using our coin!
