My two generators have never let me down. They are both Honda. Same here, my two gennies and water pump aka the important stuff all has honda engines.

+1 for Honda. Our Honda gear has been dependable for 20 years.
Dunno about Chinese stuff, never tried it, but my experiences with B&S small engines have been frustrating. So perhaps avoid those too!

Found the problem. Well, 2 problems actually. 1) The level sensor is a little askew, but it works on perfectly flat or sloped in a particular direction. Bunnings would not give me back my money because of this. "It starts, no refund." 2) It cannot handle electric motor startup, so it won't run the fridge. Kicking myself for buying Chinese crap (very out of character). Will sell it (for a loss) and go buy a proper one.
