I've been doing a fair bit of pickling of vegies this summer. I use a derivative of the pickle at this link. I've quantified that for every well packed Number 31 Vacola jar; 2 cups of liquid are needed to cover the contents. www.foodandwine.com/recipes/crisp-pickled-vegetables
