Conversation came up at home tonight about the coronavirus, prepping, and family. So here's the discussion;
You are isolated due to the virus running rampant.Hospitals are over run with the sick,Drs surgeries are closed, and medicine is almost non existent. You've planned well, and warned others to prepare, but no one has heeded your pleas until it's too late. The place you are now bunkered in is well watered, plenty of food, and enough supplies to get you and your family members who live with you through the next few months.
There's a knock at the door - it's the daughter, her three kids, aged 11, 6 & 2. She's got a running nose, sore throat, and bad cough. None of the kids are showing symptoms, but one is starting to sneeze. (Lets say it's the 2 yr old). They want in!
Not only will this be four more mouths to feed, but you also have 3 kids also living with you (16, 8 & 6), and the Mrs. It's the grandies, they want in. They plead, cry, scream,"Nanna, Poppa, please, let us in"
What to do?
This is a scenario that could happen to me, but may also be relevant to most here, just change the persons to fit your situation. It's to create a discussion on what might ( God forbid ) happen, and how you may respond, react, and how you might have to live with that decision.

Given the circumstances they can all be quarantined on the property in the caravan or built for purpose tiny house. If they dont understand why then make them understand. Sad state of affairs though and i can only imagine they could be infected with pandemic. Quarantine and C.A.R.E.

I prep for myself, partner, our 4 kids, their spouse, and the grandson. I store enough for all of them. Siblings and their families can fend for themselves.
In this scenario I have enough to cover them, but would need to quarantine them. Off to the shipping container bunkhouse they go.

Sleep in the shed until 14 days of no symptoms.

Direct family = take care of them. Many of the fatalities have been the very young or those already ill, so your should be fine but need to take care of the grandkids. Agree with the 'quarantine them in the shed' comments. Lock the gate after they arrive. Fairweather 'friends' would = fark off.
