The Carrington event is one of my favourites! solar flares come around often enough that we could get the next big one in our life time and the domino effect it would have would be pretty catastrophic ,financial collapse and war being the biggest concern i think , we could get the water running and crops would continue to grow but the strain of rebuilding would surely result in a major geopolitical shuffle and its interesting to think that after an event like this it may be the poorest countries with the least reliance on modern infrastructure that rise to power

"I'm preparing for a Massive Solar Flare that will end the world as we know it" - from an episode of Doomsday Preppers.
I will admit, when a co-prepper of mine brought this up during one of our local meetings about 3 years ago, it made sense then after research I found out that it is somewhat linked to my concerns of Natural Disasters (e.g. earthquakes, storms, etc.). Prior to that, I didn't think about a Solar Event to be a major issue.
For me, a Solar Event can be the catalyst in a series of worldwide disasters.
