paranoia: You were gone? Welcome back mate, for now at least... I hope everything went well in the big smoke.
Oct 9, 2017 19:16:20 GMT 10
SA Hunter: HaHa - not much smoke out West, but, yeah, had a good time. If anyone is on the SA West Coast Oct next year, gotta go to the Oysterfest in Ceduna!! First time there, and loved it. Very family friendly......

paranoia: Oysterfest? One mans trash I guess... Last trip across the Nullarbor I stopped in Ceduna for lunch... plenty of people without shoes yelling on the main street, not much smoke

SA Hunter: haha - funny thing is, that's normal communication for them - people get worries with all the yelling, but calm down when explained it's just how they talk/yell.

Peter: Hey all. SA Hunter - the Oysterfest sounds good. One of my favourite foods ever.
Oct 10, 2017 11:18:57 GMT 10

Oct 17, 2017 21:59:11 GMT 10
SA Hunter: yeah, spent last night on a mate's "small" boat - 58ft, sleeps 11. Got a good feed of squid, whiting & flathead!!
Oct 17, 2017 22:12:50 GMT 10
paranoia: Wow... Sounds fantastic! Yeah I don't think I'll ever own something like that given the missus' stance on boats. I'll be happy enough when I finish building my 7 footer
Oct 17, 2017 23:15:07 GMT 10

China confirmed a bird flu outbreak at some broiler chicken farms in the central province of Anhui, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Agriculture on Tuesday............................................................
Lab experiments on a new strain of the H7N9 bird flu circulating in China suggest the virus can transmit easily among animals and can cause lethal disease................................................................................
A FUNNY thing happened this week. While Australia was busy debating the feminist implications of Lisa Wilkinson’s pay packet and coming to grips with the fact solar panels didn’t work very well at night, China quietly announced it was going to take over the world...............................................................................
Experts have warned Congress that it is ignoring a newly-developed weapon from North Korea which could shut down the US power grid and kill the vast majority of Americans within a year....................................................
With the latest news being that NK is warning Australia could be targeted, it is time to ensure your preps for radiation are well in hand as it will not stop with one bomb....
I think eventually the United Nations will have to step up to confiscate all nuclear weapons as it is unacceptable for the rest of the world to live under the threat of two or more crazy's with their fingers on the buttons. The UN is the only authority that could actually let one off without a reprisal, so they could then take the role of keeping everyone in line or else!
The UN is a gutless piece of money waste. They are scared of their own shadow.
If they had any spine, this saga would have ended months/years ago.
Well, after endless days away with work, I finally got to do a little gardening the past 3 days - here goes!
Planted 8 Black Russian tomatoes ( The BEST tomatoes EVER imho ). Planted another row of carrots. Put in some seeds - Thai Pink cherry tomato ( very sweet ), zucchini, Carolina Chili & Pumpkin. I then dug out 2 pits in the front yard ( in a raised area with shrubs & pine bark ), added soil, compost & manure, then planted some QB Pumpkin seeds. More Basil, and now have a few cherry cuttings I collected - they are soaking in a solution of water & Seasol - once they bud, into the ground they go.
Abe and Esther are flying to Australia for a two week vacation to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary.
Suddenly, over the public address system, the Captain announces, "Ladies and Gentlemen, I am afraid I have some very bad news. Our engines have ceased functioning and we will attempt an emergency landing. Luckily, I see an uncharted island below us and we should be able to land on the beach. However, the odds are that we may never be rescued and will have to live on the island for the rest of our lives."
Thanks to the skill of the flight crew, the plane lands safely on the island.
An hour later Abe turns to his wife and asks, "Esther, did you pay our charity pledge cheque to Beth Shalom Synagogue yet?" "No, sweetheart," she responds.
Abe, still shaken from the crash landing then asks, "Esther, did we pay our United Jewish Appeal pledge? "Oy, no I'm sorry. I forgot to send the cheque," she says.
"One last thing, Esther, did you remember to send a cheque for the Synagogue Building Fund this month?" he asks. "Oy, forgive me, Abie," begged Esther. "I didn't send that one, either."
Abe grabs her and gives her the biggest hug and kiss in 40 years.
Esther pulls away and asks him, "So, why did you kiss me?"
