Two totally unrelated topics but I need advice and assistance in both, so thought I'd kill two birds with one request.
I want to add a blood pressure monitor to my home med kit. Can anyone recommend a good quality one please? I don't mind paying extra for quality, especially where medical equipment is concerned.
I can, but if you are not in a hurry we can talk about them at the meet in June! You can have electronic or manual. I would suggest both. Up to $200 for electronic(Automatic) and a up to $100 for the manual one. When & where? I haven't lurked in a while lol and am out of the loop!

" but concerned about human error giving inaccurate readings." In my experience with automatic machines can have just as much inaccuracy. Electronic machines often have a great deal of difficultly getting a reading on someone who has an irregular pulse - this is common in a lot of people. There is some evidence online to show that there is a great deal of difference between manual, electronic machines and then different electronic machines. I haven't read about the meet, perhaps I can bring a few items for people to look at, give some instruction etc.

Ok Frostbite, what sorta thing are you looking for? A portable sorta thing to put in a medical bag that you might carry? Or something that would live at a BOL/Basecamp. Are you looking for something manually operated or something electronic?
Anything from Welch Allyn or Nonin is acceptable.
Really you get what you pay for, there is a reason why hospital machines cost several thousands of dollars and the ones you get from Aldi are much less.
Hope this helps

I'm jealous of your skills. In reality many of my skills are simple. However the opportunity of putting them into practice is not something most want to do, nor are they everyones cup of tea! Happy to share knowledge and teach skills. AAA

I was planning on going , but our second child is due to be born soon ...could be any day now so the Mrs and I are going to give it a miss and stay home ( Bundaberg ) . Main reason for going was to get a look at and hopefully lay my hands on the Warwicks WFA1 rifle .... still buying one regardless though lol . Congratulations Assie_Scout, all the best for you and the family. Yeah the warwicks is a nice looking piece of kit, unfortnately in NSW it will probably be C or D due some part of our catergories mentioning something about appears like military style. Kinda confused why they didn't make it into a pump-style rifle. AAA

I'd like to go, but don't think I could stomach the city traffic Graynomad, I get the felling that you'd be fine if you dropped into low range! Up and over!

On exactly the same day I attended an almost identical call. Thankfully the two inside the container survived, though they were quite unwell.
Please be careful people, my colleagues and I don't need to see this stuff.

Jay, do you think there's a possibility you could do a private video on youtube or post one on here showing you do this?
I for one would find it easier to watch and learn than read and probably make an awful mess of things!
Cheers,

I've pretty much got much Kydex work area set up and have started tinkering, I would be interested in making things for others once I am a little more confident with my work,

Hey AusPrep I have been considering getting some Baofeng UV-5R so I can get the battery expansion packs etc, do you know much about these and how they compare to the model you have?

I have to admit, probably not as well as I'd like. I think if I had 15-30mins things would be better.
I have got a new car/BOV, and a new house, stuff in a storage shed, so I'm a little all over the place atm.
But with not too long, I think I could load up reasonably.

graynomad - You're definitely lucky with the ability to fit some shipping containers! Hopefully I will be able to do the same soon.
I am one that likes the idea of networking with a group. My father and I will in the next month or so have 350 acres, majority of which is native bush.
I like the idea of meeting some of you guys at group meets etc. Depending on how things go I might be happy for people to drop a cache or two of their stuff here - if you feel its a good staging location or BOL for you.
I will certainly be looking at a container or two depending on size and price.

Does anyone else feel that they don't have enough storage space at home?
What have people done to get more space? Do people rent storage space.
Any thoughts?
Cheers, AAA
