Spent 2 weeks in a small city on the mainland of China and was sure as hell a huge eye opener. Quite frightening knowing it will probably be like that here soon enough with the facial recognition and other things.

'Get them off their butts, away from their screens/devices 24/7, and get them working. Proper discipline - including appropriate rewards WHEN EARNED (ie not given) - will do wonders for their entitlement mentalities.' Parents need to take a lot of the responsibility for todays entitled youth. They are largely a product of our parenting. Agree x100. Some parents forget who raised their own kids some days.

I love manuka honey and it has done wonders for my friend who has a lot of auto immune problems. Hi Chloe - just looking through some old threads. Are you able to expand on how Manuka honey has helped your friend with autoimmune problems? Hey! He is on a few immunosuppressants and usually always picks up every bug going around, he just would say he overall felt his immunity was better considering the immunosuppressants and less infections, he was also on other medication which could/would of helped but he did notice a chance while adding the honey to his diet.

If it isn't bleeding I'd say let it breathe and keep it uncovered. If it is oozing or bleeding go for a bandaid with a drop of triple antibiotic ointment like Neosporin (cuts heal really well and much quicker, but you run the risk of developing antibiotic resistant organisms - I just don't care) Little bit of MRSA never hurt anyone (sarcasm intended haha)

Red and puffy can also just mean it's inflammation and is trying to heal itself. The tenderness could also be from the actual cut itself or from infection. Depending on how you cut it, I'd wash with an antiseptic soap (or vodka pat dry with some clean tissue and depending on size wrap in some clean cloth or bandaids. This is just what I would be doing for a minor cut.

Luckily my partners parents run a free range pig farm. Always enough pork going there. Yum!

I love the chicken and corn Aldi soup. I prefer it over the top brands at Coles/Woolworths.

I am older rand for me it looks like crap! As a RN I have seen many idiots with infections in puncture sites and partial removal of infected ear lobes and cartilage in ears. To each their own, but it does not float my boat! Just my opinion. I suppose those idiots then just lack personal hygiene or the knowledge to not go to a dodgy piercer or do it themselves. Not all of us are like this and I am studying to become an RN and nothing has been said once about my piercing. (Reply to doomsdayprepper^) I also don't see why some people get so offended by it and use the term drilling holes into their body yet tattoos are the norm. Digging small holes and filling with ink isn't any better, and someone's personal appearance shouldn't be judged. Not liking piercings and tattoos is fine but there is no need to use name calling.

I believe everyone is allowed opinions, things that they do and do not like. But I do hope that you do not automatically judge someone or think badly because of some piercings. The best thing is, the day I decide to take my piercings out, it's as simple as that, take them out. No laser removal no pain no extra costs lol.

it takes maybe a week after you have the piercing done for it to heal. Lots of cleaning for the first week to avoid infection and general cleaning afterwards. Just like someone would treat ear piercings. No pain once it is healed. It's not difficult to clean at all. Infection can be from poor hygiene, or your body simply rejecting the piercing and not wanting to comfortably heal around the jewellery.

I have the nasal piercing I am sure which is the spot of concern.. the septum. I've had it for over 7 years and I've also dealt with some incredibly rude older people to my face say horrible things. I don't let those things get to me, and you know what my parents have always said about piercings? Unlike tattoos, piercings are easily removable. Zero snot problems (lol), zero nose problems in general. I have had many facial and body piercings and do enjoy them. I acknowledge people not liking them, but hopefully still have respect enough to not question my decisions on my body and my piercings

Hand sanitiser, female sanitary products (you never know), box of matches, powdered hydralyte, insect repellent. I mean if someone handed me a goodie bag with that in it I would be cheering haha.

Hey all, I am thinking about buying some powdered garlic and powdered onion in bulk online to save money, knowing I won't be using a kilo of it any time soon, and would love to add to my preps, what would be the best way of storing once opened from the original packaging? And how long would it last once opened. Thanks!!
