My superannuation is mostly a multiple of my salary. The balance cannot go down. My employment is just gravy, I haven't needed to work for years. Financial security is a crucial aspect of prepping. It's been my primary focus since I bought my first property when I was only 21. I was the same, Until I got divorced. Maybe I should have got divorced when I was 21 and got it out of my system then

Mmmm, divorce is still ongoing, lawyers dragging it out to make more money. still living on the boat, but have been reducing my debt levels pretty good. 2020 should be a big one for me, as I should be able to get onto the farm again before winter (maybe). Once there I can make updates as though I am achieving something

have done wood gas before. Due to the nature of the combustion it suits long stroke engines best with large fly wheels. Runs erratically on newer engines. Tv series Mountain men had a guy that modified a hilux (or similar) to run on it. It can be messy and you need to have a tar catcher and intercooler to get the gas as cold as possible before entering the engine. I used it to run a holden red 6 which was running an irrigation pump. At operational speed I would go through roughly 0.1 m2 of wood an hour. Draw backs was wood had to be cut to a certain size to improve the gasification (about 4cm cubes) and the time required to prep the wood and feed the gasifier. I was going to experiment with autonomous feeder at the time, but my plans changed.

This is most likely the best docu-movie made about a supervolcano. It was made by the BBC about Yellowstone going off in modern times

Ive listened to alot of his stuff. Even though he is gay he is definitely liberterian, who promotes equal rights, freedom of speech and has a hatred of modern feminism and the so called alt-left with all their hipocracy. They hate him as he calls them out all the time and argues logically with them with evidence which they hate

Very simple article. can expand on it easily
1. You will take several years to become established build gardens etc, ensure you have resources to tie you over until you are established 2. Youre life will become simpler in energy. Do not expect to make all your modern appliance like clothes driers, coffee machines to work 3. At all times try to build a surplus, this is to tide you over in bad years or to trade for items you may need 4. Learn to move at a slower pace. The speed you did things at in the city may get you injured without easy access to hospitals 5. Treat all injuries straight away as life threatening and treat them on the spot. Delaying may cause them to complicate 6. The first or the second time you do something you may fail. It will take several years to build experience. 7. Learn from any neighbours or old timer in the area. You might be right in principle but it will never work were you are located. 8. Try to establish projects at your homestead well before you try to go full time off grid. This will reduce learning time and establishment time giving a better chance at success 9. Never throw anything out. Everything can be re-purposed or reused to full fill another function 10. Imagination and your mind are your most important tools, do everything you can to make them grow and remain open minded especially against old prejudices. 11. The priorities and routines you had in your previous life mean nothing when you go off-grid. 12. You will work harder than you have ever worked before. Ensure you take time out to enjoy the beauty of nature and relax as well

The battery terminals in small devices are usually coated to improve conduction and reduce corrosion( usually tin, nickel or phospor broonze. unfortunately when the batteries begin to salt (not salvageable unless a wet cell) the salts eat the coating of the contacts. if you clean the contacts with a wire brush they will usually go okay again but be highly susceptable to corrosion in the future. Also the free salts can cause corrosion to occur in other parts of the circuitry so a thorough cleaning and wash down is required. if you want to fully restore then you need to recoat or plate the terminals again. www.instructables.com/id/Restoring-Corroded-Battery-Contacts/

Yep, it seems the significance of face is greatly under appreciated by the west. Let us remember that Japan had to be nuked twice, even after having all its major cities firebombed into oblivion and all its external resources cut off before it would surrender. It might be best if all the cowboys just holstered their shooters and quietly left the bar ... before the bar and everyone in it, including the piano player, gets shot to bits. Wish I could find the story, apparently the nuclear bombing of japan could have been avoided due to a translation error. When the US asked japan to surrender, the reply in Japanese text basically said "we will consider a formal discussion of the surrender". The American translators according to the story translated it as "we will never consider a formal surrender". Found lots of references to it. www.pangeanic.com/knowledge_center/the-worst-translation-mistake-in-history/en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mokusatsu

Most militaries have think tanks that constantly perform role plays trying to cover as many scenarios as possible. Guaranteed they would also have some for ET invasion, super volcanos and skynet taking over. After multiple role plays a policy may be formulated then filed away somewhere ready for use

Waste of space and money. Very heavy to boot. Better of with a standard caravan or camper trailer and blend in with the crowds. It would also end up cheaper as well. Once you have a standard then modify it to suit so the outside looks normal. If you custom design something weight is a major factor Graynomad has alot of experience in this area

The universal answer it depends. On non apple tablets you can only really go Android or Windows. Samsung have a good reputation but are more expensive, but you can buy the shock proof cases for them which are rare for Androids. I still have a Kogans branded tablet with a basic case which is still going strong. Main thing is to get as much memory as you can.

Just remember petroleum products have many uses besides being just a fuel. Even in fuel you have diesel that is used for transport logistics, mining and construction industries, aviation keroscene for all the jets. Heating fuel for Northern latitudes, Bitumen for roads. Another source is raw stock for the chemical industry which helps to make batteries. Energy is the soul of the economy, cheap energy means you have prosperity. All you need to do is look at countries that dont have an energy abundance.

www.environment.gov.au/energy/publications/petroleum-statistics-august-2017Interesting summary for domestic production: Over 7 years our oil crude supply production has halved, condensates has stayed pretty constant. for our limited refinery production only 17% of it has been coming from australian sources, this has been the average for the last seven years. But in those last seven years refinery output has nearly halved. LPG car has doubled but total LPG has fallen in seven years Petrol all types has fallen Diesel oil has gone up but not drastically. Imports of Crude oil has nearly halved to match reduced refinery capacity Imports of Petrol, Aviation fuel, Kerosene and Diesel has gone up 3 fold in seven years

When I was working in Africa nearly twenty years ago, the chinese were already trying to take the place over. Their plan was to copy colonialism, but do it differently by buying everything due to the trade imbalance with the USA. So in effect the USA was paying for the Chinese to take over.
