Do you know where the bags are manufactured? Some of these coming out of China are of poor quality. I did get some direct from US manufacturer but postage was high.

Hey guys! I have quite a bit of experience in storing grain and dried foods in mylar bags! You have to watch to not fold mylar bags more than once as otherwise you'll start to get pin-hole tears in them. This can be a real problem when you're talking long-term. I mainly buy bundles like www.mylarshop.com/mylar-bag-oxygen-absorber-bundles Another thing you have to watch out for is when you're buying oxy absorbers you're going to need some way to reseal them as, if left open to the air, they're going to run out quickly! Hi folks
Just ordered a box(250) of 1 gallon (USA) mylar bags and 400 x 300cc O2 absorbers from LDS online store. Bags are 7ml thickness. This was the only size they had. I actually prefer this size over the larger bags. Total cost was $142 US, with free postage. I have just received email goods are on the way and so far no change in pricing (I was a little concerned about the free postage).
Regards Bill

kevc - thanks for the info - does the company you get your mylar bags from ship to OZ? bilycart - thanks for letting us know - I wasn't aware that LDS would ship to Australia. I placed an order with Amazon only yesterday, but my first attempt did not post o/s so I remembered BIG RIVER TRADING in Australia www.bigrivertradingco.com.au/ were linking an Amazon seller and I had no problem getting them thru here. www.bigrivertradingco.com.au/product-catalogue/pantry/re-packaging/item/mylar-bags-for-re-packaging-pantry-foods-and-other-emergency-supplies.html?category_id=254 (scroll to bottom of page) I wanted the 5 Gallon size to fit my 20 litre lidded buckets from Bunnings. I have purchased smaller sizes from Ebay Australia - I think via The Nile Au, but they may have come from their USA store?? I intend to seal them for long term and wanted the gamma lids but gave up as some preppers stated they didn't quite fit our Bunnings buckets. I also purchase a plastic 'bucket wrench' to get those lids off without breaking a finger!! You can pick these up for around $3.00US on Amazon.

I ended up sucking lemon and bought my 50 bags with absorbers from ebay. I think for 50x 1gallon bags was about $17odd with free shipping
