Yeah work really sucks, glad I tossed it in years ago Actually I've pretty much always been paid monthly and had jobs where they really didn't care what hours you worked as long as the job got done, I was very lucky I think.

Those little victories are good for the morale, aren't they?
Off the top of my head... earlier this year we had a blockage in the water pipes which I found out about after I had lathered up to shave, I went out and asked the neighbour if she had water problems and she took one look at me and started laughing. I grabbed the jerry can out of the ute and poured a bowl to shave with. I went to Sydney earlier in the year and found myself stuck in the toilets without a paper roll - always ruins the day - luckily I had been to KFC earlier and kept the moist towels I hadn't used. Just last week my brother's home got broken into so I had to head out and bring back a new exterior door and deadbolt, that's why I bought a ute, since it was pretty late by the time we'd finished I decided to stay the night and grabbed my car bag (towel, blanket, change of clothes) no problem.

Out of milk, oh look there's UHT milk there. Out of toilet paper, oh look we have toilet paper. Out of fruit, oh look, there's some tinned fruit. ... happens weekly. The trick is remembering to resupply.

Out of milk, oh look there's UHT milk there. Out of toilet paper, oh look we have toilet paper. Out of fruit, oh look, there's some tinned fruit. ... happens weekly. The trick is remembering to resupply. Milk and toilet paper are the two items we have going well. I was learning about Japanese social and history issues and can across what they called the Oil shock? I can't remember why but the Saudis had bumped up oil really high. Apparently toilet paper used a lot of oil energy to produce and was one of the first items to disappear and it was the shortage that hit home to most of the people in the report. I always have a minimum of two large packs unopened and 20 rolls in with the porta loo bucket. I have a tantrum when we have not replaced as we open. milk is purchased as uht only and a couple per shopping trip. Milk has its own cup holds about 60 litres but we use a take from right replace to left and rotate really well and has a minimum of 30 litres. Plus we have stored powered milk in shed but not well rotated. If only the management of all our preps was as good as the milk and dunny paper!

The boss is/was sick. She makes the Christmas family secret sauerbraten sauce. So I said "rest up darl' the prepper has it covered". I pulled out the last four jars from the last Christmas. She always makes a massive batch, so last time I confiscated the leftovers and canned it. Everyone said it was as good as fresh. It is nearly 50% vinegar so canning was probably not reqiured, just bottling would have done but I wanted to try out canning last year. I would give y'all the recipe but I only know what goes in, not the quantities. But it has a look and consistency of pumpkin soup. It went so well she has promised to make a batch solely for canning.

First, I don't tell anyone I'm a prepper, though I've got 2 trusted friends headed my way if things went bad [they don't know about the food] I've had lots of little useful moments such as; - out of milk, oh look here's some UHT milk - out of pasta sauce, oh look we have some extra - power goes out, here we go, torches and candles at the ready: Have a 12V AGM cell for phone charging if need be. Generator if extended period. - batteries for Xmas fairy lights? Sure do. - ammo for the range? Yep. - Working for yourself gives you fluctuation cashflows, so I have a cash preps for bills and longer term I have a food buffer, are month to month for renting if it's really bad. The cash preps have come in handy many many times. Ideally I have a backup income, though that's a few years away. - thirsty? Only a matter of opening my boot as I've got 23litres. I've got into the two 1.5L bottles a few times a year. - jumper leads in boot - have used them this year, a surprising number of people are unhelpful! - needed some plastic cups for a birthday - had some in the preps - EDC mini-multitool/led light on keys has been used every few days on average. Invaluable. - used some fuel from the preps. I have to rotate it into use every 6 months anyhow, though the timing was good that week. - out of ... oh I've got some extra I've been using lots of the preparations I've got, fairly frequently. Makes sense that they have a use in your every day life.
