This is a great video on the basics on building a log cabin. Obviously much easier to build before SHTF when you can still use power tools, but as mentioned still some processes are best to be done by hand. Also great to see how this turned out for them, with no prior planning or building skills other then basic woodwork knowledge.

Hard to do in the city though Paul, you gotta get out of Dodge. Come up to Bundy, we have a BCF so at least you'll have one income

The wife wont want to pack up and move but she said I can buy some if the right block comes up. It would just be a weekender for me to go and play on and set up. Paul

Great vid - when I was about 17/18, a bunch of us built a mud brick home for a friend - was a 3 br home, up near St Albans, NSW. It took us weeks, we got dirty, but the end product was magnificent.
Log cabins though, aaaagh, my dream!!!!!
