Hey Guys, Was at bunnings today and they had bagged fruit trees for $24 each which i thought was amazing. Some were 1 to 1.5m tall. They had apple (pink lady, granny smith, gala and red delicious),plum, nectarines, cherry, persimmon, not sure what else.

WOW - What a find!! I listen to the gardening show and apparently this particular apple (tree) ended up in NZ although its seed goes back hundreds of years. It is available here in Australia and scientists are saying it is the most nutritious fruit every discovered!

WOW - What a find!! I listen to the gardening show and apparently this particular apple (tree) ended up in NZ although its seed goes back hundreds of years. It is available here in Australia and scientists are saying it is the most nutritious fruit every discovered! Cool, I hope it's not like spinach which for decades had one too many zero's on the protein number [and is why popeye eats spinach] until someone tested it again. |

antiag21 - I heard about the apple on 2GB Garden Show. I'm sureit was the Saturday show but have Listened to the highlights and the item on the apple didnt come up and so I searched for a contact form to 2GB - no luck either. But, I found this article - on the 'Pendragon Apple' www.telegraph.co.uk/news/health/news/6151010/800-year-old-apple-healthiest-to-eat.htm and the only thing I did remember was that they had 'rediscovered it'. in NZ. If I get a chance on Saturday/Sunday I shall call 2GB and enquire for you. |
