Each year I remind family and friends to make sure they have the App - FIRES NEAR ME - installed on their iPhone. It's something no person in NSW should be without. I believe there is a Windows version if you don't have iPhones or iPads. I have used it many times including the time we were caught on the sea side of a big bushfire at Sussex Inlet a few Christmases ago. It's a life saver literally. I'm sure each state has their own similar Apps. In saying that, I would love a list of Apps that Auspreppers could recommend for other SHTF scenarios.
These are a couple of the ones I have installed.
Fire Near Me - NSW DisasterWatch (Australia) - up to date issues affecting all types of issues, ie, house fires, bushfires, flooding, cyclones etc Earthquake Watch.

Thanks for the App recommendations , the disaster watch app is pretty good for a free app , I was surprised how quick the fire alerts appear after the actual fire call on the Gov fire channel on the scanner .
