Bathroom: Grab all those little shampoos, conditoners, soaps etc Those Paper sanitary bags would be useful too! Grab the box of tissues and toilet paper still in its wrapper! Kitchen: TeaBags, Coffee sachets, Sugar packets and bikkies! Breakfast: Jam and Vegemite packets! Honey as well! Room (And if a really bad SHTF event occurs, there are snacks and drinks in the bar fridge)!!!!

Find the store room. It will have wholesale boxes of everything in the minibar, sure living on mini packs of peanuts and single serve cups of long life milk isn't a long term plan... but think bigger than the minibar

Good idea Austemplar! The tbags etc are things we can grab now! We have a lot of those min shampoos etc so I have placed sets into ziplock bags which can be used for trading or giving out to people in short term emergencies!

I'd be looking for bottled water first, from both the mini bar and store room. Then food and hygiene items.

Oh dear Aus! How old were you? About 19 from memory, it was a motel in Sydney we overnight-ed on our way to the great race in Bathurst.

Interesting piece of trivia: The Bible is the most stolen book in the world.

And beyond the small supplies, in a real SHTF type affair, you have plenty of sheets for sheets/bandages/stretcher etc and pillow cases for loot bags or bags to fill with some rocks to do some sack wacking, or fill with sand for sandbags

In general I grab the coffee and sugar, handy to keep in the camping box or the car and also the soap and shampoo as i do a fair bit a travelling with work and its always good to have extra. Some hotels supply disposable razors and toothbrushes aswell which is good

Beds, furniture to turn into firewood/defences, basic cooking gear in a lot of hotels.
With the right design of hotel, you can turn it into a decent defensible location to base out of. High enough roof to mount a sniper/spotters nest, approaches that can be setup to a funnel attackers into the kill zones, defensible stair wells if the attackers get past your external defense line etc
