The article makes reference to cyber attacks being a trigger for a catastrophic collapse and after reading the article below a few weeks ago, it's frighteningly clear just how far reaching can be the effects of a cyber attack, and equally as frightening, these state based cyber attacks are happening more and more frequently/boldly. www.wired.com/story/notpetya-cyberattack-ukraine-russia-code-crashed-the-world/

If you want to see in real time just how bad cyber attacks are happening, here is a cyber attack map cybermap.kaspersky.com/When I was posted to the USAF Information Warfare Center and attended the Commanders briefing each week, the scale of cyber activity was very clear. Ever since then I've been under no illusion as to what is going on under the public radar. That has been incentive enough to ensure that we can cope with a zero notice zero access to our bank accounts and all of the fallout that entails. Our coping skills are improving with each passing month as we progress towards full independence from the consumer market. We are not there yet and it takes longer than I anticipated but its a journey I am am very happy we have begun.

Infrastructure world wide was invented and built for efficiency and economy of materials and product. Not with the thought of electronic attack in mind, unfortunately. So every where is as vulnerable as anywhere else to a determined attacker. And that goes both ways. Remember... If the enemy is in range, so are you...
Even as an old guy, I guess I got enough Marine left in me to do guard duty at a local substation, fly power line or pipeline inspection, or what ever, where ever I'm needed.
