Considered adding a tube of thick condensed milk? Heaps of easy to digest KJ plus some protein. Easily consumed direct from the tube.

oh this is a good idea. condensed milk tends to be canned here. I am also looking for satchet peanut butter but not sure if it'll keep well.

tube honey is another good choice vs condensed milk. Honey has average 64Cal per 1tablespoon (8.05g). a 60g tube of pure honey has almost 450 Calories.
Sounds good to me!

When i was in the reserves, The rations had both condensed milk and condensed (?) coffee, both in tubes.
Might be worth trying to buy an army ration pack?

You can still buy tubes of condensed milk - great for a 15km pack march.

The Hungbuster pack? Those cost about $50.00 Aus dollars but are low in quality and large in size. I recommend trying to get either Aussie or American MRES. American ones are easy to get. Try Safecastle.com Aussie ones like the CR1M 24 hour ration pack are a lot harder, you really need someone who has access to them on the "side". If anyone has interest in MRE's I recommend checking out one of the MRE/Ration pack groups on Facebook or one of the BOB/Prep groups as well.

Of course you really need to get them with the Flameless Heater pack. Some companies sell Ration packs but remove the Heater pack for transport reasons.

I'm already hooked on them haha..
but thanks for all the inputs. I will be looking at locally sourced RTE foods to add into the pack.
Will update all when I do pack them and seal them.
