Bwahaha. Locked up for 12 months in a house full of knives, swords, and a son with ADHD. What could possibly go wrong?
Love the quote about having lots of defensive weapons, all legal of course, including tazers. Knock knock, who's there?

And I loved the "this is my real name, this is what I have, and this is where I live"
Yep, her supplies will last maybe 10 minutes.

Loved this comment though from another reader Kane - "To call these people (aka "preppers") crazy is the same as calling anyone who pays for any sort of insurance crazy."

My stockpile is still walking around chewing grass in the Paddocks! Grass fed beef one meal a day, many thinks a paleo / carnivore diet is serious madness but I've got to say you can survive and thrive on it! Shit quality Carbs like white flour, white sugar and white rice are the real dietary based killers.

The best kind of stockpile ... self replicating! How many of those do you run?
Perhaps stock up on drench and such ... I hear a lot of Ag Chem relies on Chinese ingredients.

Pretty much destocked right now aside from four cows / heifers and a bull, I've lost access to an adjoining 70 acre package due to city / lifestyler types buying in and wanting to treat their pasture like it's the front lawn of a suburban house! That's after 20 years of access in exchange for general ag related property maintenance and stewardship for absentee metro types! They are Santa Gertrudis, I'm an LPA Accredited Breeder but not a Primary Producer.

Heaviest thing I ever shot was a feral Santa bull. Out on the fringe of the Tanami. Stalked to within 20 paces and shot it behind the ear with a .243. Cut its throat and foot pumped its heart to bleed it out as we had no way of hanging the carcass. No trees strong enough to take the weight!
Being an old battle-axe of a thing, the meat was on the hard side, but the local Aboriginal community still got good use from it. Lotsa stew being cooked in every house for the next week or two.
Happy days ...

Yep crazy until retards start panicking over the lack of toilet paper, bread and milk at the local stupid market. Couldnt give a toss what people think of my preps, they are not going to know anyhow. Toilet paper prepping is joke in my opinion, best learn how to deal with a shitty asshole without paper ashtf and beyond. Modern convenience has softened everyone up, its high time we got back to bare essentials. Most sheeple are gonna be too preoccupied with their domesticated cat and dog or rat or whatever. Shtf dogs are gonna die in huge numbers, cats are gonna be a fookin scourge, i hate cats.

I think I've got over 250 rolls between home and the retreat. Either I'm a softie too, or I don't want to face the consequences of telling the Mrs to use her hand.

Article is much the same as usual, fairly harmless overall, although I found the bit about the guy selling 1-month 1-person food stores for 385 pounds (roughly 750 dollars) a bit much. Supposedly the cost is because the product has 20-year lifespan, but reality is who would be keeping food for that long? Clever marketing gimmick? Why not spend your $750 on usual supermarket food for the whole family, with a few luxuries thrown in to boot? I might have to do some market research and see if a "prepper pantry" business would do well in Aus.

"Crazy Aussies Preparing"...... OK.... That's not a bad thing, and certainly doesn't make anyone "crazy"....
Unfortunately, if sickness from China hit any first world country first it seems it would likely be you. Location to China, level of trade, and numbers of people moving back and forth would make it logical to me..
But then we have Vancouver.... spit.... Likely the biggest majority from China arrive there, then disperse.. Not good... Any way you look at it..
Thank God we are in the far north bush..

We have a stock of old swan-skin nappys to cut into convenient sized wipes. Nothing is softer on the exhaust than that. Makes bog roll feel like sandpaper! I'm hoping for TP shortages just so I can use the 'makeshift' option without getting raised eyebrows from the wife and kids! Probably should stock up on some extra napisan though.

Mrs Frostbite is a risk analyst for a health fund. She has just been given a project to identify and mitigate risk to the business if corona takes off in Australia, with a major emphasis on staff working from home (attending a workplace is so last century).
I assume many major businesses here will be currently doing the same.

I have a contact that provides advice to the health ministers and writes legislation for QLD gov. She informed me that there will be a 4 month disruption to medicines in Australia. Not sure why 4 months as this saga seems more like a protracted campaign than a brief blip on the radar.
