Had an idea about pumping air into a tubeless tyre to seat the bead. Make up an air hose which on one end clamps onto the valve of the wheel to be inflated. On the other end of the hose have a fitting which you can push and hold onto the valve of an inflated tyre. Enough air should pump through the hose to quickly seat the bead on the other wheel. It would deflate the donor tyre.
Anyone done this or can see why it wouldn't work?

It would deflate the donor tyre. Anyone done this or can see why it wouldn't work? It works I've seen it! Keeping a spare tyre over inflated with a hose rig as you describe is an old trick. Jack Absalom (RIP) even used it, watch! at 13.00. A ratchet strap and a foot pump will even do it for you!
