They shid you not.
It will be interesting to see how people handle this situation. Will we see Militias and Protests USA style? Or will people just get the hell on with it?
Oz folk are pretty lazy, so I'm guessing they pick compliance. There is much less effort required for that.

A curfew is going too far. Stage 3 was fine if they actually enforced it.

I'm waiting for his statues to appear, pointing north towards his foreign masters at CCP HQ.
Nothing like NK though - at least NK has the guts to p*ss off CCP every now and then.

Anyone noticed the fine is about $1600 if you bend over, or $10,000 if you elect to fight it in court and lose.
Seems to me the grubbyment REALLY doesn't want these fines tested in court. Why?
My guess is these fines are issued on very thin legal ground. Or they don't want the courts clogged up with this rubbish for years to come.

State of emergency powers apparently can allow al sorts of other laws to effectively be ignored so that the probe can be fully inserted.

So, I've had fun poking fun at Comrade Dan, but, the questions I have re the Stage 4 lock down;
1. Is it necessary? 2. What other options are there? 3. What happens if this doesn't work?

1. no. like someone said before, use or enforce the existing rules properly. The mexicans have used disaster powers Twice in one year. This is not a disaster and is preventable for most individuals if they cared that much to take the appropriate precautions. 2. Enforce existing rules. Don’t give so much notice before closing borders. There were a metric shit ton of grey nomads that are up my way that laugh about escaping victoria before the lockdown....yeah well done dikheads. 3. Victoria will remain locked down and borders closed until foreseeable future. Major economic meltdown seems inevitable.

"Purchase Limits" it was called rationing in WW2 !!
Purchase Limits Following the announcement, Coles reinstated fresh purchase limits “to ensure everyone in our community can purchase the products they need”. From Sunday, there is a temporary two-pack per customer limit on mince meat, chicken breasts, and chicken thighs in the store. These new measures are in addition to the existing two-pack per customer limit on hand sanitiser and one pack per customer limit on face masks.
Woolworths Changes Woolworths also reintroduced product purchase limits in Victoria across at least 50 product categories on Sunday.
Products with a purchase limit of two items in the state include toilet paper, paper towel, baby wipes, tissues, anti-bacterial wipes, liquid hand wash, disinfectants, bleach, cleaners, disposable gloves, and sponges.
As well as food products including rice, pasta, flour, sugar, bread, frozen items, long-life and dairy milk, noodles, cooking oil, pasta sauce, vinegar, dinner kits, chilled juice, eggs, mince, sausages, burgers, prepackaged vegetables, and some canned items.
Packs of pork, lamb, beef, and chicken have also been limited to two packs per customer, and meat, small goods, and poultry to 1kg, in the fresh food category.
Loose carrots, onions, and potatoes will also be limited to 2kg per customer.
In addition, a one pack per customer limit on face masks continues to apply.

I hope Victorians remember this next election. Victoria doesn't have an opposition. The Libs here are a total joke. Their policies seem to be to bend over for the tollroads lobby at every opportunity and to hope the africans rob enough people just before election time. It hasn't been working for them. Andrews sees this as a lisence to go full Stalin.

Look on the upside. Plenty of opportunities. Start up a business printing portraits of the Glorious Leader to be placed in every home...or else. And ration cards and travel permits, dear God, the bureaucrats must have hard-ons by now. IT jobs because mandatory tracking by phone will have to be made compulsory. It's safer! Security jobs to man all the checkpoints. Razor wire production will have to soar, plenty of jobs there; ex-mil can lay landmines over large areas to control non-complying people. Railways jobs for all the boxcars that will be needed. The economy will boom. You people are so negative! Also "Coming to your state soon!"

I been having a chuckle with this.... I suppose it all hinges on if you want to flatten the curve or not. There is an argument for letting it run wild, But while 70% are old and crumbly the other 30% are not - many are young and while they don’t die a good chunk are crippled for life. Despite the alternative media claims it is a serious illness for many - sure majority are asymptomatic - but many are not and the issue of a saturated health system remain real.
Multiple countries have shown that social distancing, avoiding mass gatherings, an awareness of hygiene and masks do make a difference. Clearly there wasn’t a will do this in Victoria. It isn’t all about enforcement - it is impossible to force people to comply - moving from L3 to L4 isn’t about the police or army forcing people to do things - although there will be some of this - it is about trying to convince the masses this is serious, and then the masses applying peer pressure to make the minority to comply.
Would be interesting to see the behaviour if it was a disease with a 40% death rate!!
Stay safe!
