Love it and especially that they are working with native plants. My nephew works with a similar concept over here which works with inner city boys and takes them out of the inner city and away from gangs and they learn farming and gardening skills.

You look up "black thumb" in the dictionary, and there is a picture of me.... I even killed wild horse radish.. twice.. and it is indestructible..
Sweetie is good with local wild edible fruits, plants and such.. I do OK with game animals, predators and there habits..
Having grown up around several reserves and first nations peoples, I have seen the level of knowledge to live independently, as they did at one time, shrink immensely.. And it is so sad this knowledge is being lost yet today..
At the time... Things like the residential schools first nation people all over North America were sent to were valuable in raising the literacy rate of many.. Unfortunately the system was porous enough to let a number of abuses take place that never should have happened.. A subject for another thread, not here..
Again.. Without a concentrated boost to the literacy level, these people would not be as well off as they are today.. Well off is a relative term compared to where they would be without the education.. Apples and oranges to compare to urban, suburban areas.. Unfortunately..
The level of skills that could have been passed on from elders to anyone has declined ever so steeply.. We all are much the worse off for this loss..
