The US is little different than China when it comes to using social media to Identify and suppress dissidents. ................................................................................................................................................................ A Chicago real estate company has cut ties with one of its licensed agents following social media posts showing her presence at the US Capitol on Wednesday. An Allentown, Pennsylvania, teacher has been "temporarily relieved" of his teaching duties" until his school district can complete a formal investigation in his alleged involvement at the protests. A Texas attorney named Paul Davis is no longer employed at his company, Goosehead Insurance, after social media posts appeared to show him talking about his participation in Wednesday's events. edition.cnn.com/2021/01/07/us/capitol-riots-people-fired-jobs-trnd/index.html

I see that big tech is trying to further limit conservative voices by removing access to Parler from the app store and Amazon going a step further to turn off the hosting services for Parler.
I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see forums like this one get shut down for harbouring views which don't conform to the socialist left agenda.
Firefox also jumped on the bandwagon today and implied that conservatives/Trump supporters are white supremacists and need to be rooted out. Unbelievable.
Up until this point I had been a user of Firefox but I've uninstalled it from all our devices now. I'm not generally someone who fills in those "tell us why you're leaving" forms but I certainly did so for Firefox. Google Chrome asks the same question when you uninstall it too.

I've seen a couple of articles claiming the Capitol Hill fracas was an example of 'White privilege on display'. The divisions and biases are only getting wider. I really can't see Zombie Joe, the walking dead president, being the inspiring leader that will bring calm and order. eg: www.citynews1130.com/2021/01/07/white-privilege-capitol-hill-violence/

Quick google search will turn up plenty of people prosecuted around the US for BLM riots. Partisanship will kill America - the right furiously seeing every liberal as communists and the left every conservative as a nationalist racist. Which simply is BS. I’m a right leaning libertarian and just want to be left the fu#k alone!!

With the amount of division going on amongst the population what are the chances America has another civil war in the next 5-10 years?

I was reading below quote in regards to parler today on reddit. I dont use any social media outlets anyway im old school and like face to face communication, this just fyi, take what you will from it. Also im not a reddit member i just read the insane shit people write for shits and giggle when im bored. R/conspiracy often has some very entertaining material. https://www.reddit.com/r/conspiracy/comments/kuiyie/psa_parler_is_a_honeypot/

@bloodmountain I share your point of view that any social media outlet is a potential honeypot. Hence its wise to think before one shoots their mouth off online.
With that in mind and a bit of discipline regarding what one posts (if one posts at all), it is not IMHO a significant issue to have an account on Parler and follow some of the mainstream personalities who have channels on there. Dan Bongino and Hannity come to mind.

+++ I'm reading a lot of the same in that already there is a lot of talk of the continued crack down on opinions and individual who do not agree with the acceptable doctrine.. Many saying how to, when to, where to continue closing media accounts, censoring individuals by all means available that do not repeat the acceptable doctrine.. And it would seem not so much people "shooting there mouth off" as much as anyone saying virtually anything that isn't 100% total agreement to the acceptable doctrine today..
Most of this info I'm seeing is from people pointing out things that are being done, and said from how to do personal op sec and be grey man through this time to be able to live day to day in the world they see coming.. Articles of "How to Accomplish the Purge, and Cleansing" of the ones deemed undesirable seem to abound.. And they are using the exact terms "purge" and "cleansing" openly.. Be careful what you say to your neighbor, best friend, relatives, at church if you are allowed to attend, to your kids lest they repeat it, you name the thing that can be an individuals down fall..

Is firing someone actually legal? What they do in their own time is their own business. We didn't see BLM protesters getting fired.

Many jobs have a "morality clause" included in the employment contract. If you are caught doing something "wrong" it is grounds for dismissal regardless that they are on their own time.

Social media is basically the modern STASI. A massive surveillance operation with the ability to make dissidents 'disappear.' Certainly in electronic terms at the current time and possibly, soon, physical terms as well! I foresee new laws in the not too distant future that make owning and carrying a 'smart phone' with you everywhere, all the time, mandatory. And it will, of course, be implemented as a 'safety measure' for our own good. Quite possibly related to Covid management now that that particular juicy 'threat' has dropped into the laps of security/control minded legislators.

They've just started checking the personal QR health codes again this week. Don't have a phone, then can't get on public transport, into shopping centres etc.
