I had a 66 Plymouth valiant. Simple, solid and zero luxuries. I can’t say I miss it at all but it was a great first car. Cost 350 US dollars and was really economical to keep it running. Any male teenager doesn't need a really nice car for their first one. I either had the gas pressed hard or the brake pedal, there was no in between.

1974 ford panel van, with a bed and bar in the back. And the occasional young lady.

When I saw the thread title my first thought was ... wow, good social engineering tactic to learn a potential answer to someone's security questions. Noting the question is from you @ SAhunter, I'm sure that wasnt the intent but I'll pass on answering this one none the less

My 1st car was a 1974 F100 running a 250 down flow motor matched to a T18 gearbox also know as a mop in a bucket. That old girl went everywhere i wanted to go yeah it had no luxury items like aircon but it was a solid old truck and i loved it. The motor use to get vapor lock at low speeds or when idling to long due to the intake manifold being directly above the exhaust manifold so that was a bit of a stupid idea but i was 17 and didn't care one little bit i upgraded to a 1984 F350 4x4 running a 460 with air conditioning after that

I had some jap clunker that i bought for 200 bucks back then. I generally like to use pets name for those questions because ive had more than a dozen of them.

My first was a 1950 Chevy half ton pickup through high school.. Many adventures I'm not going to expound on..
My first real car was a 1963 Mercury Meteor.. Small V8, 3 speed with overdrive.. It got real good millage.. I don't remember the numbers, but even then I was into squeezing the life out of a drop of fuel.. Still do...

Haha I feel like a spring bunny now... 2003 Hyundai Getz. Still driving it, too! Found the one person on this forum that's younger than me! Hahaha. My first car was considerably older than that, but definitely considered a whipper-snapper car by some of the old and bolds here. She was an ancient rolling filing cabinet (with all the grace and majesty implied in that loving nickname) but she served me well.

Driving assessor in our little town was arsehole any young fella that turned up to do his license assessment in a V8 was an instant fail on first attempt. Got it a week later on second attempt. 40 years later still have an XA(not the same one).

But I could change a welch plug in my tea break.

Took 2 hours pulling crap off the challenger on the weekend just to tighten the rocker cover bolts definitely not looking forward to when I have to change plugs.
