Small acreages out here are selling almost as soon as listed, and for up to 2 X listed price. Its insane. Sadly this is why we've decided that we're probably not going to buy in the very near future. We were thinking of buying in the next 12-24 months, but even the other half who's very property-focused has agreed that now is just not the time to buy. There's no possible way for us to buy a property where we're currently living at price that isn't obscene. We're considering going back to our plan of buying over west and leasing the property out until we can move there ourselves in five to ten years time. We can still get a place for a reasonable price over there. At least, compared to what we would pay here. I still am thoroughly convinced that we'll need land so that our kids can build if they can't afford to buy land themselves. Then again, who knows. If an economic crash happens it'll probably take their entire childhood to get back to a state where society is just getting back on it's feet. That's a sobering thought.

Beno, I wouldn't have picked you as a 'tin half empty' kind of guy.

Just happened across this supply issues video. It has some insightful comments on just in time manufacturing.

If you sell now it would be costly to buy back in.

Lol 10 acres is way too small for anything we need in the next 30 years, we'd rather use the money as a deposit to buy another farm. At the moment it only gets used to run our rams on when they are not in with our ewes and store some stuff in the shed but the money from it could be used better.
