The KFC in my town is notorious for running out of chicken, or buns or the eftpos in the drive-thru is not working, that and you rarely see anyone closely resembling an adult in the store lol

There has been that here in North America also... People calling 911 to report out of stock, wrong orders and the like.. This with KFC, McDonalds, and regional fast food places.. Back in the olden days when I was a kid, fast food was a treat, not a dinner option..

Don't get me started..

There has been that here in North America also... People calling 911 to report out of stock, wrong orders and the like.. This with KFC, McDonalds, and regional fast food places.. Back in the olden days when I was a kid, fast food was a treat, not a dinner option.. Sadly I think it's become the norm in a lot of places. We don't eat at Maccas (McDonalds) Hungries (Hungry Jacks, or Burger King) or KFC (obvious lol) very often. Maybe once every few months. But we will have it on the odd occasion as a treat for the kids. It's pretty rare though because we can have plenty of treats that aren't that kind of food if we want to. But in fairness we're in a pretty lucky area. Good food, relatively easy access, and a culture more actively inclined towards getting outdoors and being active. That's slid a bit in the last 10-20 years but it's still more common to get the kids outside for a game of footy than in some other western countries. But at the end of the day in supermarkets you can buy a chocolate bar for the price that you can buy an apple. You offer anyone that's lacking a nutritional education a choice, and they're probably going to take the chocolate bar. It's getting better here. Slowly. Proper food education is well established in schools now the way it hasn't been in the relatively recent past. Kids get a better understanding of 'sometimes' foods and 'often' foods. I've watched a few Pommie shows lately where families order out every single night of the week because it's cheaper than buying groceries. High calorie foods, with very little physical activity to offset it. School lunches seem pretty average. I'm conflicted, at least the kids who's parents are struggling financially will still get meals but what good is it if they're being filled up with cheap off-cuts, copious amounts of salt, and cellulose fillers? Well. That's a personal gripe. Long story short I can't say I'm surprised that people call emergency services when their local food place is running low on stock. If they have no idea how to feed themselves otherwise it might feel like an emergency. I'm glad my pantry is ready to go at all times!
