Before my hands got bad enough I couldn't finger chords, I tortured an old Gibson bluegrass mandolin a bit.
Still love bluegrass.. Many variations, some being US Appalachian, Lake Superior has a version of bluegrass all its own, Louisiana state US French Arcadian/Zydeco, are some examples. Have been to Memphis, where Elvis lived and played in some of the drop in jams in bars on Beale street. And played in jams on both old and new stages of the Grand Old Opry in Nashville.
Of course Canada has its own folk legends. Gordon Lightfoot, Stompin Tom Conors and others.
Who couldn't just love "Waltzing Matilda" at the Olympics and "Pub With No Beer"
