strop2: The numbers in Vietnam are still around 20 for the virus but most other gov'ts are hiding numbers due to tourism, and exporting. I expect cover ups to stop shortly and we will see how bad it is. Feb 12, 2020 12:34:36 GMT 10
strop2: To China - where a scientist said that the coronavirus came from a meteor. The Coronavirus known as SARS came out of China in 2003, surely he could have fact checked his own statement...…. Feb 12, 2020 12:36:40 GMT 10
strop2: I just contacted HCMC - trying to get an exemption not to travel (airports and Planes are a cesspool of germs) and was told that people are now buying out food items at Supermarkets. These are all the nightmares coming true, I go shopping later today.... Feb 12, 2020 12:39:54 GMT 10
strop2: More local news - Vinh Phuc has 9 virus cases, 54 suspected and another 249 being watched and have set up a 300 bed field hospital. Vietnam is always very quick to act in a crisis. Feb 12, 2020 15:58:02 GMT 10
SA Hunter: Seems to be well contained here in Oz - depends on what report you believe as to the severity of the virus. Feb 12, 2020 22:22:48 GMT 10
strop2: I saw Australian news today that a diplomatic Peter Dutton ref China and still denying Chinese Students to enter Australia - a great response from Australia to contain the virus even with the number of Chinese visitors who had already entered. Feb 14, 2020 10:24:14 GMT 10
strop2: China's economy and reputation are taking a huge hit - countries need to be strong. I think we are all wanting to know what the truth is and need everyone to be honest about this virus. All economies are taking a hit, buy local as much as you can. Feb 14, 2020 10:28:32 GMT 10
strop2: Life goes on, I have harvested my latest rice crop 1,300kg 4 days ago (2,200sqm rice land), have lots of fruit trees at various stages of growth (4,000sqm of x rice land), 6 x boxes of noodles, water treatment filter, extra fuel for generator and 4 geese. Feb 14, 2020 10:37:29 GMT 10 *
strop2: I can upgrade security at my Mekong House at anytime but currently Vietnam has had a great response to the virus. As long as people do the right thing and don't bypass the systems in place. Feb 14, 2020 10:50:04 GMT 10
SA Hunter: Hi all - back from a weekend at the bol. More roofing supports built. Slowly getting there. Drove away feeling like I was finally accomplishing something. Feb 16, 2020 15:25:47 GMT 10
frostbite: Are you building on your own, or have a trusty assistant? Feb 17, 2020 15:44:42 GMT 10
SA Hunter: Mainly on my own - the young fella helps whenever he comes out. Feb 17, 2020 17:10:22 GMT 10

SA Hunter: Welcome bugsyboy & pikelet. Feb 19, 2020 16:41:12 GMT 10
Joey: A couple of UNI's in Aust are so desperate to get their cashed up Chinese students back on campus that they are offering to pay them $1400 cash for them to travel to a third country for the 14 days before being allowed into Aust Feb 21, 2020 19:54:05 GMT 10
Joey: This is a loophole they discovered in the gov's ban on direct flights from China and now they must spent 14 days in Thailand or another country that has yet to ban flights from China and are paying for their hotels/spending Feb 21, 2020 19:55:27 GMT 10
SA Hunter: When you consider most of their income comes from Chinese students, no wonder they will do whatever they can to have them enrolled - I mean, money is more important that people's safety. Feb 21, 2020 21:22:25 GMT 10
SA Hunter: The government has lifted the travel ban for year 11 and 12 students from China, saying the coronavirus outbreak has been “contained”. www.news.com.au/travel/travel-updates/incidents/australian-cruise-ship-evacuees-contract-coronavirus/news-story/a Feb 22, 2020 21:16:11 GMT 10
Joey: Printing manuals: How do you pick what you want the print from all the manuals avail online, considering most are US based eg: plants/map reading/etc so that it's relevant to Aust? Feb 24, 2020 13:02:03 GMT 10
SA Hunter: Hi all - Joey, I generally print the hands on manuals, even gardening & hunting. If it's too specific to US, downloaded for a read later. Feb 24, 2020 18:44:44 GMT 10 *
