A bit of fun from my usual gloomy imminent economic disaster. Gone back to watching oddball prepper and survival vids.
If bugging our on foot a trolly of some sort is very useful. He goes shopping with a machete and axe attached to a trolly - if one did this in the great land of OZ you would be arrested and the keys thrown away.

My ideas for improving the design: Use the coles trollies that have the partition section at the front to divide up your load Weld a mesh tray to the underframe so you can load gear down there as well Weld on a flat bar between the rear wheels so you can stand on it and skate along Maybe a couple of brackets with wingnuts or something so you can secure the rear panel closed to still give you the option of being able to open it up to carry larger items, otherwise, weld it shut. If you want to make a deluxe model, you could rig up some sort of sun shade to give you a little coverage while pushing it

Interesting build... Of the people in the metro pushing shopping carts you will occasionally see an abandon cart.. It will also usually have one or more wore out wheel.. For a while the elongated ...big game... type cart was a popular conversion to a bug out, camping equipment mover.. Many models of single or 2 wheel designs.. For instance... www.amazon.com/Hunting-Game-Carts/b?ie=UTF8&node=3413561

I hope that guy doesn’t consider himself a prepper. Using a grinder without safety glasses isn’t prepping (his little spectacles were worn very low and effectively useless whilst he was using that grinder).
prepping is less about machetes and hatchets and gas masks and more about not making stupid decisions.

That's actually pretty good. Makes you look armed and homeless. Eg: Dangerous, but having nothing worth stealing.
The wheels would be an issue here, with many supermarkets having wheels that lock up as soon as you leave the carpark (I have tried...)

I'm pretty sure I saw him using safety squints.

I thought this was interesting... Good big of fun, would use marine ply but a bit costly. One have to love British ingenuity. 42s trolley roof top tent.

The big issue with bug out with just gear on your back, is limited resources. One could take all your gear + 3- 6 month of food, definitely worth the effort to lug it around, Stuff plastic bags everywhere and look like a vagrant. The post was mostly for fun and a bit of light hearted discussion. The annoying European in the vid below, has an interesting method of installing bicycle wheels, some more ideas for your creativity.

Needs a ghillie suit 🤣. In fairness, if you're bugging out to a paradise I suppose you really don't need to carry much with you.

Needs to be camouflaged, can't help thinking a tent would be easier to transport and set up, especially if trying to stay mobile.
Needs a cover otherwise rain will get in, the plastic lid seems a bit fragile, evidenced by him breaking it during transport.
But, its a good start and one has to start somewhere.
The camper cart is cool, but I wonder how balanced it would be with those pull outs on the small wheelbase ?
The pushbike trailer is simple, and I like that its made from junk.
As one who has ridden a pushbike whilst towing a small trailer that was loaded with 'essential' camping gear, once u solve the gearing issues, the next one that I never worked out was traction, yes, you can wheel spin the pushbike when starting off if the trailer is too heavy. The same would apply to a electric bike I suppose, so there is a limit to how much you can haul under your own 1/3 Horsepower.
I'm far too old now to consider biking, even though for some reason I still have it sitting in the shed.
The eyes are the mirror of the soul.

Wood isn't very strong in torsion, especially ply as it tends to split easily, and the bicycle wheels are also out, acting as a lever further exasperating the problem. 10 points for trying though.
The fecal material has hit the air circulating device.

Old Oxy set trolleys are where its at. Built for heavy weight carriage and off-road performance.
Here's one I prepared earlier ...

May look quaint but how is turning a shopping trolley into a trailer any better than just making the trailer from scratch, they way you want it in the first place?
Any loaded trailer like that needs some form of basic suspension or the spokes will go out of alignment the first time you hit any kind of small bump.
Connecting it high up to the seat like that will destabilise the bike.
No reflectors visible. This makes it illegal for an adult to use on roads in some places (yeah, I know WROL etc, but surely you'd want to try it out first with a test run.)
Looks very difficult to use if you had a failure on the bike itself and had to push the cart by hand.
Ok, I'm done now...

In all seriousness, that's why I bought the trailer for my bike. Initially it was to take the smallest shouty to school and back, but I've kept it since it's been outgrown. I can put quite a lot of weight in it without any adjustments to it but I'm planning to make a solid floor for it so that I can carry a bit more weight without straining the stitching. But it looks like it'd be about the size of that trolley mod. Mind you, it's nowhere near as fun as riding around with a trolley as a trailer.

I would leave the house early after breakfast with the truck, trailer and my woods tools, a noon, evening, and next morning breakfast in the form of ..homemade MREs.. This to an area I owned and areas I had permission to harvest fire wood.. I could make a comfortable place to sleep in the extended truck cab.. Part of the reason for being quietly ..on sight.. at first morning light was for moose, bear or both hunting seasons.. This also gave me opportunity to test my ..homemade MREs.. This all worked out well.. As quaint and quick, easy as the little cabin build I linked is I would never use it.. Too light of construction for the number and size of bears where I was...
