Well call me a softie..... but I have 18 months (at current usage) of toilet paper! Will be enough sudden changes without having to roughing up my butt at the same time!!!
That must be a complete room dedicated to toilet paper, what does 18 months of toilet paper look like?
Just use water + soap and your hand, warm water if need be. Being sanitary about it of course, always wash hands afterwards.

so they are those big 48 roll packets, times that by 18 and id say it would be close 5 - 7 meters squared maybe?

Back in the 80' the South African defence force, rations was one roll per person per month. The ladies use a bit more. 30 rolls a week is excessive

So just a bit ago from CBC.. There are something like 90,000 reported confirmed cases, (more on that later) and about 9,000 deaths.. Even a high government official in Iran is a confirmed case..
And practically in the same sentence the CBC saying there are confirmed cases showing up in places where the facts so far say it should be at yet..
So back to "REPORTED" cases.. First.. That likely means there could be as much as 2-4-10 times the number of actual cases that are not confirmed or reported ?? It appears entirely possible ?? What happens when it gets to 100 - 1000 times the number of cases today ?? What, when, or if will we hear about that ??
Second.. CBC is a part of the liberal government "trusted media" groups.. Meaning likely dipping there beak in the about $700 million pool set aside for "trusted media".. How finely do you imagine facts could be reshaped or adjusted before they are let out..??

I get toilet paper from Who Gives A Crap. You set it to automatically send you a new box - following a schedule that they suggest would be right for your household size. You can set it for a bit more often so you gradually build up a store of it, or easily cancel an order or postpone it a few weeks. Anyway, a box has 48 double length rolls - 400 x 3 ply sheets. (So if you’re counting rolls remember to check the roll sizes.) They suggest one box every 8 weeks for 5-6 people or every 12 weeks for 3-4 people. au.whogivesacrap.org/products/double-length-48-pack-best-valueI can easily count the boxes we have and know how many months they will last us. They also sell tissues - possibly handy coming up. I do also have a box of old t-shirts ready to be cut up, used and washed for reuse if we run out. I know people who do that now for regular use.

I dont do the the shopping for the most part or count the bog rolls, it was a typo. missus said "every few weeks". 7 people in the house plus guests with two toilets and 4 kids of various ages. Got me thinking about this now, i might have to see why we are using so much. So on average say 4 bog rolls are used every day between 7 people, that is 56 rolls in two weeks? As i say i dont keep count and i dont the missus doesn't either, she just buys a 48 pack roll of TP every few weeks.

...Shit quality Carbs like white flour, white sugar and white rice are the real dietary based killers. Agreed. I took Mrs Pete out for lunch today to an Indian restaurant. The curries were awesome - really. But the rice & naan bread have left me feeling lousy. Proteins, veg, & fruit are the way forward IMO.

Totally agree with that. I plan on having thousands of kgs of meat walking around soon. But alas the rain has driven cattle prices very high. i just missed out. It’s good for the poor buggers that hang on to their cattle though.i hope they make some decent coin.
In saying that Basmati rice is actually pretty good and has a low GI. I think most indian eateries use this type of rice.

Brown Basmati baked in an oven (casserole dish with tight lid or foil over then lid) is freakin awesome but only once or twice a month "treat"!

Managed to convince the wife that we should be buying a few months ahead. The SIL, a 56yo chronic spender public servant and life coach, with a big income, bigger dreams of wealth, and a severe lack of cash and assets, has finally decided that having more than condiments in her cupboard might be prudent. Corona has her concerned. Has the MIL concerned as well. And the Mrs is concerned enough to finally appreciate my prepping.

4 month saga seems more like a protracted campaign than a blip on the radar....
------------ Pretty much how I see it at a glance at this stage... The planet will be lucky to be dealing with this in less than 2-3 year minimum as it cycles its self through every nook and cranny of populations..
Just thinking... People talk about extinctions... With a lot of some continents being small bands, tribes of people, once something like this hits a place with populations like that.. They could be wiped out to not exist anymore..
Like also said somewhere, materials, labor are being diverted from things like disposable diapers, disposable female products to health care products, a number of products people have come to rely on may be in jeopardy for a long time.. Even with raw material available it will take time to rebuild work force, production, distribution..
Maybe today is the blip on the radar, tomorrow the whole screen may be a blizzard of dots..
