I'm grateful I was prepared! Had a bbq with my dad and the kids today, was cutting a roll and my dad keeps his knives super sharp (for a carving knife- you could bloody well shave with it! ), slipped straight to the bone in my finger! So thank goodness for my edc fak!

Wouldn't be a huge deal for me. Love close enough to a river and have enough spare bottles that we coukd go collect plenty, got fishing gear and a bow, dead tree up the road would make for an ideal fire. If not there's p.p's friends c**p we were holding for him that would burn nicely. Lol. Big dog at the back so security would be the same. Oh and a few heifers up the road, could easily make one of them go "missing" and keep my neighbors quiet with part of the meat we "found" lol.

Yeah that's going back further, but generally people in family groups in the dark ages, or friends, would happily nurse babies for people.

had me worried for a minute! lol (it can cause significant kidney damage when ingested even dilute, best treatment is liquor believe it or not!)
i actually had no idea potassium permaganate could be ingested tbh. ive only used it in chemistry, lol, and even that was some years ago now

also, for those looking at group situations, remember what women did before formula if they were rich enough/couldnt breastfeed. wetnursing. its lunacy that we will feed babies milk from another species, but from another breastfeeding mum is gross and weird? yet another bs social norm these days.

hey Res-Q, let me know what you find best for fire lighting. I found coolant work very quick, I have a bottle mixed with water and use it for all the kids cuts and scrapes, It is a great item to carry in you BOB even down to water purification. it doesent tast that bad either. Paul Wait which are you referring to being ok when mixed with water? I sincerely hope you don't mean coolant. ...

If in shtf breast can't be beat! Sterilization and formula prep, ensuring the milk is free of contaminants etc would be a nightmare. Btw even if you've never breastfeed, once you've had a baby you physically can. Tmi warning- my littlest self weaned at 19 months, is almost 4 now and I can still produce a few drops. If I worked at it I could get a full supply going again at very short notice. So can other mums

The only real issue is if you bust a leak XD I saw a guy use a line to and from his pool for his water cooler system! Plus side is it was silent, no fans needed as it didn't have a radiator. Lol
