Hi Members, As most of you would have read by now, Robin Williams last night took his life. I know what your saying, people die everyday..that's pretty much what i said, sad...but yeah. it's life. My attitude soon changed when i had heard he took his own life, suffering years of depression and drug and alcohol abuse. I would like to extend my hand to anyone that needs it. To talk, private message, to get something off your chest. Whatever it may be. You want my mobile number...just ask! My phone is always on me and any forum alert goes straight to my phone. Am or PM I am never far away. We here are not just a little online community, but also a little online family. Most of you know how passionate i am about AusPrep, i have the same passion towards each and every member here. I am never far away. Below is a few links i have found that cover these things. Depression, bi polar, anxiety and everything in between. Please, i urge you, if you feel that something is wrong. Ask for help, do not let it build up. Im only ever a PM away. I can only echo the above comments. My wife beat acute depression a year or so ago but there were many black, black days on that journey. Please, if you are struggling, talk to someone.

I can't like this thread enough!
Mental health issues not only affect the person, but their family and friends, even if you are not depressed, but know someone who is, sometimes you need to talk too. I also have a sympathetic ear and willing to listen
Thanks for the post Ausprep

We need a "love" button!
The stigma around mental health issues really bugs me. If we are physically ill we see a doctor - people will get a cast to help a broken limb heal so why should we be so hesitant to seek help to heal mental wounds?

As with Aus, my PM is always open if anyone need to talk! Some times that is what we most need, a shoulder!!! Women tend to be able to talk things out, but men think they can handle things on their own... We can't, we need to share as well!!!

as mentioned by almost everyone here, i to am always free to chat, the missus suffered pretty bad post-natal depression after our first 2 kids and I believe she was a sufferer before this due to her nutso mother, it isnt easy but having people around you that gie a genuine damn as to whether you live or die is important.
Please dont fight this battle alone, there are many people here who will do what we can to help!

With the recent death of Robin Williams I have been reading about how some people have been calling him a coward for taking his own life. In fact someone who works with my husband said this about him too! This is OUTRAGEOUS! Just think how tormented someone must be feeling to feel the only way out is to take your own life! Very recently hubby and I have had a close family member who tried to overdose on a huge amount of medication and this has been very upsetting to us! I was very worried about this person leading up to this and tried to warn people. Often people who you know are suffering will not talk about how they are truly feeling, and just seem to drift. This is a danger sign, it is so important to talk about this if you are feeling like this!
Depression is a liar, it tells you that there is nothing worth living for, that there is no hope! Its just my opinion but I think this makes all the difference between those who do or don't take their life! If you can find some hope deep within yourself then cling onto that and get the help you need. This is the most honest thing you can do for yourself and your loved ones!

You simply have to be determined to turn your mind to something else!
