Hey Everyone,
I took the 303 out yesterday with the milsurp ammo and thought I would put my findings up here as well a some queries.
- The rounds themselves had about an 80% success rate, the other 20% had about a half second delay (click...boom) which for 40 cents a pop is more than acceptable.
- They were reasonably accurate and shot as accurately as I can (2-3" groups @ 100 yards)
- They are quieter than the Highland commercial rounds and seem to have a lot more recoil which while meaningless is interesting.
My biggest 'concern' is that the damage potential of this round is far greater than anything I could require (short of complete SHTF scenario and using the milsurp rounds for what they were designed), what I am curious about is whether I can pull the bullet and propellant out of these rounds and put them into standard reloadable cases, maybe using a little less propellant to lower the recoil a touch.
Also because I am a nublett I decided to take a couple of shots at my .22 spinning target with a couple of rounds, they went right through without even missing a beat, these targets are maybe 6-8mm of steel and the bullets went through like a hot knife in butter.

If youjave the reloading gear, I don't see why you can't pull the powder out, maybe experiment with a few of putting freshpowder in and see if that fixes the delay, and do some with fresh primers and see if that is the delay problem. That could save a few Bob on brass and projectiles

... 6-8mm of steel and the bullets went through like a hot knife in butter. Just goes to show how difficult it would be to protect against a rifle caliber and jacketed pill, for a vehicle or mobile application anyway. I wonder how mild steel would go if hit at an angle, not square on.

That could save a few Bob on brass and projectiles I thunk the issue is the primer itseld, and with these being berdam primers they are a lot harder to get or it requires case modifications. I figured it would be easier to projectile and powder over to a new primed case..... shall look more into this

oh also, this is the pakistan stuff, it has a terrible rep but this lot doesnt have any water damage and was still in its spam can when i received it so there is very little chance of moisture causing to many issues, once I make my way though a box and mess arounf with reloading the components into other shells I will let everyone know
