Spring Wheat Used In Pizza Crust Nears 14-Year High As Floods Devastate Northern PlainsTo wet to plant www.zerohedge.com/commodities/spring-wheat-used-pizza-crust-nears-14-year-high-floods-devastate-northern-plains U.S. spring-wheat futures are nearing the highest level since 2008, as the Northern U.S. Plains are plagued with devastating floods that prevent farmers from planting in the high-producing crop region. Blizzards, winter storms, high winds, and extreme flooding battered the Dakotas and stalled plantings in April, raising concerns about shrinking crop yields as prevent plant dates for North Dakota are at the end of May.

I am going to repost this since it follows exactly along the lines of this discussion. Thanks to DavidSB and GP over at DDP forum for a heads up. Geez can this just be coincidental or a case of where there is smoke there is fire? There is a spark of truth for every good conspiracy theory! I have confirmed some and will post the ones I can find a link to. The conspiracy/wired incidents at food processing plants is continuing and going global. www.zerohedge.com/markets/food-processing-plant-fires-conspiracy-or-coincidenceOn Monday, 43,000 chickens died in a massive fire that destroyed four chicken houses on a farm in the Dutch town of Heusden, according to World Today News. In March, a fire at a poultry farm in India killed 3,500 chickens. According to PiPa News, the fire destroyed the entire farm. Another poultry farm in India was also hit by fire in March killing 8,500 chicks. Times of India reported the fire may have been caused by a short circuit. In January, a fire at a poultry farm in Kerala, India killed more than 2,500 chickens, according to The Print. In December 2021, 8,000 chickens were killed in a poultry farm blaze in Sri Lanka. News First reported the fire was likely sparked by an “electrical leak.” A massive blaze at a Northern Ireland farm killed hundreds of pigs in November 2021, as reported by News Letter. No one was injured. In October 2021, a large fire at a Fermanagh poultry farm in Northern Ireland killed 16,000 birds. It took firefighters more than seven hours to get control of the fire, as reported by That’s Farming. A large fire broke out in September 2021 at a Chilean food processing plant. Although no injuries were reported, several crews were needed to battle the blaze, as reported by La Tercera. In July 2021, a deadly fire at a Bangladesh food processing factory kills at least 52 people, as reported by Aljazeera. Another fire at a poultry house in East Yorkshire, England in July 2021 killed 50,000 chickens. The fire was said to be caused by accidental ignition, as reported by the Daily Mail. In April 2021, over 55,000 pigs were killed after a fire broke out at a German pig farm. USA Today reported the cause of the blaze was unclear. video.twimg.com/amplify_video/1517340937193541633/vid/1280x720/TIQ5INsrzSzs_Ln-.mp4?tag=14

Added to the fires, so far this year in the US they have culled 24+ million chooks due to raging bird flu going across the USA at the moment As the fires continue to blaze here in the U.S. especially in the drought ridden areas and the bird flu rages out of control the prices reflect that. Inflation soars, gas prices have come down some and shortages seem to go in cycles for now. Availability of many products are spotty at best and prices rise daily. Never have I been more thankful that I raise my own chickens/rabbits/ducks. I noticed a hen starting to set yesterday and will make sure she has a full nest to hatch. These small animals all provide me with meat, eggs and the bedding and manure to feed my compost piles which in turn feed my gardens. I do buy occasionally meat from the supermarket when on sale though but I try to stick with buying locally from small farmers if possible. I have chicks ordered from the hatchery to replace the hens that are laying now because they are getting up in age. In the autumn I will butcher the older hens and replace with the new pullets I raise this summer. Thus far I have been fortunate that my backyard flock remain healthy. I will definitely quarantine the new chicks from the hatchery. These are indeed strange times we are living in. While I tend to be a glass half full kind of gal I am thankful for a healthy large garden, fruit trees heavy with fruit and pens and coops full of healthy small livestock. Pantries and freezers remain full and we remain watchful as we strive for as much self reliance as possible.

All are feeling under threat. It's a wise move in any case, even if the autocrats don't invade. Taiwan is very typhoon prone, so most there should have emergency supplies anyway.

German citizens should be provided with basic supplies of food, liquids and raw materials in their homes, advises Home Secretary Nancy Fezer in an interview --- --- I have a question about this.... This person saying .....German citizens SHOULD BE PROVIDED these things by the government ??
Is this just an English 2nd or 3rd language translation of what this person said ?? ?? I don't think there has been any indication anyone will PROVICE anything for citizens in statements from other places.. Just saying citizens should be ready for inconveniences of any kind..
Or am I reading too much into this.. ??

I'm not sure Tim. Could be that they meant that they should provide 'for' emergency (ie. prep themselves) or that they should be given those things. It's a bit ambiguous. But I think that any country telling it's citizens to have ten days provisions in their homes is, while a wise thing to do, a bit concerning. It doesn't ratchet up my stress levels any more than they already were, don't get me wrong lol. But that's several nations now that have done the same.

I reckon if the government gave everyone 10 days of supplies, most would just use it all up in lieu of their normal supermarket shopping and go back to zero within a month or so.

Sri Lanka has bread riots and no fuel supply issues as capital to purchase fuel has run out. The increase cost of fuel and strengthening of the US dollar has not helped. Sri Lanka is begging its neighbours India and Korea for food assistance and IMF for financial loans. India which was placing itself as a wheat exporter has now banned the sale of all wheat as global food security raises its ugly head. It starts on the peripheries then the dam brakes and global disaster will suddenly be at our doors. Shoot-on-sight orders issued to quell Sri Lanka riotswww.channelnewsasia.com/asia/sri-lanka-riots-shoot-sight-orders-property-damage-2676346COLOMBO: Sri Lankan authorities issued shoot-on-sight orders on Tuesday (May 10) to quell further unrest that has seen buildings and vehicles set ablaze a day after the island was rocked by deadly violence and rioting. With thousands of security forces enforcing a curfew, the defence ministry said troops "have been ordered to shoot on sight anyone looting public property or causing harm to life".
On Monday, government supporters attacked with sticks and clubs demonstrators in Colombo protesting peacefully for weeks over a dire economic crisis and demanding President Gotabaya Rajapaksa's resignation. Mobs then retaliated across the country late into the night, torching dozens of homes of ruling-party politicians and trying to storm the prime minister's official residence in the capital. India Halts Wheat Exports As "Food Security At Risk"www.zerohedge.com/commodities/india-halts-wheat-exports-food-security-riskIndia prohibited wheat exports effective immediately, saying the nation's food security was under threat, partly due to heatwaves that damaged yields in the country and disruptions to global grain markets in the Black Sea breadbasket region. The notice was published in the government gazette by the Directorate of Foreign Trade on Friday. It read, "there is a sudden spike in the global food prices of wheat arising out of many factors, as a result of which the food security of India, neighboring and other vulnerable countries is at risk."

Crop farmers to see $6 billion in disaster aid — USDA Beginning later this month, farmers across the nation will receive around $6 billion in disaster relief for losses due to catastrophic weather and wildfires, said Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack on Monday. The money, part of $10 billion earmarked for agricultural disasters, would be paid through the new Emergency Relief Program (ERP) to offset lower yields and value losses. americasfarmreport.com/farm-report/crop-farmers-to-see-6-billion-in-disaster-aid-usda-may-17-2022/

What? A taxpayer funded 'aid' program that in reality transfers most of the money to billionaires? Never!
