Here is one for you to work on... Supposed US Biden has signed into law a provision buried in a lot of other stuff that requires all vehicles in the country 2026 (?) and later to have a remote kill switch.. This supposedly available to law enforcement, ...fill in the blank... and of course hackers...
Supposedly GM products have had this with there On Star software and likely other systems..
Facts, details, thoughts ?? ??

Even Biden is not that stupid. Most of the electronics are imported and the Chinese have repeatedly been caught putting trojans into the software and even sometimes hardware. I reckon if he did, that most Americans would comply with it though. John Deere did it and people still buy them.
Bicycles are great btw. (maybe not in a BC winter though)

I think a lot of people simply wouldn't know. I had no idea that some tractors have a kill option now until recently.
Makes you think though. If there's a military event that occurs, having roads clogged with panicking civilians certainly would make some defence/offensive actions entirely impossible. Shut everyone down so they can't clog the roads and you're able to move troops on ground MUCH faster. I wouldn't advocate for it myself of course (I'd like to be able to USE my car in an emergency thanks!) but I can see the logic of it. But don't Teslas already come with a kill function to prevent theft?
Not 100% sure on that one. But I can see positives and negatives. I agree with bikes being pretty great though lol.

All that means is the roads will be clogged with bikes and people, many probably pushing a shopping trolley full of essentials like cases of VB or JD and coke.

Even Biden is not that stupid. Will have to think about that one for about 2 seconds... Yep.. Knew the answer to that right away...
I suppose people and grocery buggies are easier to snowplow off the road than cars and tucks..

Same effect as a 303 or 50 cal into the engine block.
You know you own an old tractor when.....The next town parade has you scratching around to find enough drivers to drive some of your tractors around.

I'm quite sure this will become the norm in no time at all. Given how much electronics are in modern cars and especially new electric cars it will happen.
Still, I'm sure people will come out with a bypass for it like a kill switch for the wifi/bluetooth/cellular adapter so the car can't be accessed remotely.

If this happens, there'll be no difference between EVs and ICE. All modern vehicles have electronic systems that can be remotely disabled if such hardware was installed.
