Hi Members! As some of you know, my plan when SHTF is to bug out. I wont go to into detail with the locations  , but here is what is going to take us out of harms way. its a 2012 Toptrail outback camper. Fully set up its a 28ft x 18ft tent comprising of four separate rooms. This is TOO BIG to set up in a std yard block. It has: 70L Stainless water tank 100A/H Gel battery 12V LED lighting system 12V outlets 2x 20L Jerry holders 2x 9kg gas bottle holders Tregg hitch Electric brakes with override Slide out draws in the toolboxes Stainless kitchen with fixed gas lines to it (saves moving gas bottles) Off road suspension and wheels Solar charging setup Very happy with this when we purchased it. Had it about 6 months now.    |

How much does an outback camper cost approx? I've heard that they are definitely more affordable than regular caravans and much better if you're going out into the bush.

What ever your budget allows mate. You can get an entry level, off road style camper for around $3K The RRP of mine above is a bit over $9K. |

Partners family just bought one for a tad more. Is getting made at the moment, but will post pictures when it arrives.

Cool Tent and a good choice in bus too! Get yaself a set of difflocks Wayno it will make your rig bullet proof mate! I seriously could not fathom how good a 4WD my old shitbox could be with ARB lockers mate!
I like that this thing is compact and really only the size of a large box trailer! Very nice indeed. Cost for yours?
If Samantha were here she would tell you how you're dreaming and that your attempt at bugging out is appalling! loL

Absolutely mate! You're a long time dead in the dirt so may as well make the years on earth worth it & fkn work 24 / 7 is not living!
Headin out to a country area I assume? Hopefully one that's large and has plenty of natural vegetation and wildlife!
Malcom Naden the dirty dog had the right idea! Christ we could not find that bit of shit at all, or even a trace of him! Well thats not entirely accurate we found traces but nothing that led to him being caught or even seen. Point is....the maggot was in a beaut bit of country and there were plenty of peckers looking for him, civilian & military and Nothing for 7 years!

So a few things have been changed on the camper. A small solar panel is now a perm feature on the front, battery and wiring have been changed to better suit what we need. Also some new rims in which i bought x4, so now have two spares rather than one.  |

the only downside is the set up and pull down times. if your ok with this than there the best, most practical option available.
