Jack looks like a dingo, a bit bigger, with the temperament of a Sheppard. He growled at me the other day when I was 'roughing up' one of the girls in play. He will stare at you then drop to the ground whilst still staring at you. He only barks at the cats and when a strange car pulls up, and sometimes the sheep when the lambs are gallivanting around.
I'm no stranger,just a friend you haven't met yet.

Yeah, our staffy X used to do that. If one family member appeared to be threatening or harming another (as a wind-up to watch the dog react), she'd growl and bark but never do anything more than that. We were just fine with that and encouraged it. It meant she was correctly reading human behaviour and would likely react violently if a stranger was attacking one of us.
