Up to 40 satellites recently launched as part of a new Starlink internet communications system were damaged by a solar geomagnetic storm and are expected to fall to earth and burn up in the atmosphere, SpaceX, the systems’ manufacturer, announced Tuesday.
And what happened to other satellites in the vicinity? Nothing...
Starlink satellites are not designed to last very long...cheap as chips. SpaceX can throw them up in packs of fifty every day if they want to. They have already replaced these ones that failed.
Not a good example of satellite longevity.

Speaking of satellites, I was at my retreat with 6 ladies during the last 3 days and on Saturday night, as we were drinking around the campfire and admiring the stars (they are all stars in my book) we all saw a string of about a dozen lights amongst the stars, all in single file, equidistant, moving fairly rapidly in a straight line. They were visible for about 20 seconds. No idea what they were. One lady suggested Santa Clause. I said it was probably the start of an alien invasion, that this might be our last night alive, and suggested they didn’t waste it Unfortunately only 1 took up my offer
