Interesting times here - many say if Iran gets involved, price of oil will go through the roof.
Keeping this non-political = will this conflict, in your opinion, draw us closer to a shtf scenario???

It won't take long for the oil prices to jump and hurt us

Not wanting to be to much of a doomsayer, but I think we are already in WWIII - I think the amount of conflict will escalate over the next 5 years. It is multi factorial a WW is just part of a wider collapse, but I think we are circling the drain and the speed of it starting to increase. Oil prices will definitely go up. I miss Tex...... "pack your rice"
Or maybe as my (very tolerant) wife says - 'I think you are getting a bit to paranoid....'

$3 or $3.50 per litre petrol is not far off if Iran gets attacked.

My stockpile is accruing value all the time. My worry is not $3 or $10/liter, but not being able to get any.
Its certainly on now, and Israel cant stop until Hamas is gone away for ever. That's gonna take time. Perhaps the west bank will be a second front for them ? That would make things really interesting. I wonder how long before USA sends material aid or even troops in ? WW3 will definitely be on then.
So much bloodshed, the hate is so thick you can cut it.

Global Oil price up +4% , how high can it go. Israel has ordered all off shore nat gas production to stop as pipelines are at risk or terror attack. Gas prices was up 11% in Europe as they are going into winter again. Another bit of 'gas' on the fire.... oilprice.com/

Can anyone explain why Norseman’s mates in the NSW Police stand by and let a protest in support of the Hamas terrorist group proceed unmolested at the opera House, but they bash, pepper spray and arrest women and old ladies who protested the Covid lockdowns?

Or why has the Australian Govt allowed Parliament house to be illuminated in the Israel colors ? Rule one, don't stick your head up and be noticed, we will only attract the attention of these dudes and this 'war' will spread to us next.
At least we are going into summer in relation to natural gas and heating.
For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.

Because they have only done it once (so far) not every weekend for 12 months. That's what happened here in Vic anyway. Not sure how NSW dealt with it. Don't remember any old ladies getting pounded but anyhoo, dont let that get in the way of a good news.com story.
I hope they photo-tag every clown at that protest.

That region of the world has been a powder keg, hot spot for a minimum of 75 years to 120 plus some years now... Some history.. I haven't read all this yet, but will.. www.aljazeera.com/news/2023/10/9/whats-the-israel-palestine-conflict-about-a-simple-guideHow many thought this would be the worlds next hot spot..?? Now that it has, I got a feeling it will start spreading from there.. Which direction will the next ..issue.. come from.. ?? How soon.. ?? In how many directions can, will the US be pulled before coming apart.. ?? Facts, details, thoughts.. ??

Last night NSW Police attacked a bloke walking down the street with a rolled up Israeli flag under his arm! While Hamas supporters burnt an Israeli Flag at the Opera House and Police took no action! No wonder your average person has no trust or faith in the Police and their Political Masters!

I'm starting to think Hitler was right - war is our natural state, everything else is abnormal.

I honestly don't know enough about the Israel v Palestine situation. I know it's been a powder keg for literally forever, but I haven't really looked too much into it in the past. Other areas have drawn my interest more. I guess I have a bit (read: a whole heckin' lot!) of reading to do. But I do agree that there's more than meets the eye on it. They've been punting munitions at each other for years, why is it now that they've decided to come out of the woodworks en masse? Where's the support coming from that they feel safe to go and murder a whole bunch of civilians at a music festival? I mean Hamas has never exactly been known for their human rights compliances but that seems like a huge over-reach if they don't have any real support to rely on.
Not to mention they've announced that they have American hostages. Now from what I've read, not that long ago the US handed over a whole boatload of cash to Iran to have a handful of prisoners released. But in this case they choose instead to send a bunch of pissed off Marines on a few ships? Those few pissed off Marines absolutely could and would bring the pain. That's not in dispute. The question is, why pay Iran money for hostages, but not Hamas? Obviously there's all kinds of machinations that dictate the decision but to instantly send out a SAG to deal with it seems like a really weird dichotomy in comparison to 'political prisoners' in Iran.
Not to mention that the spin up of a SAG for a trip isn't something that you would typically switch on at a moment's notice. It takes planning. Heaps of logistics. Getting several vessels supplied for a trip that lasts any more than a day takes time. You've got to get all those supplies onboard, make sure that you have the correct deployed units... Sure, it wouldn't take a LOT of time if you practice to have everything well-oiled. But it's a war between Israel and Hamas. Not a partner nation and an ornery neighbour. So everyone on deck go go go seems like an unusual response given that Hamas hadn't yet announced that they had US hostages.
So the question begs, how long did the US know this was coming? It's fair to say that they'd have a pretty good idea of what was going on in the region but they obviously have known for long enough to have a SAG largely prepped and ready to go. Unless they happened to be doing operations somewhere already and were diverted. I'm not sure if that's the case so maybe I'm just making assumptions.

Why read a few quick vids This land is mine.. goes through History and eventual takeover by the British and Declared Israel territory. The mosque on temple mount, was build on the Jewish most holy site -previously Jewish, and biblical. Judaism and Christianity predate Islam.

"Not to mention they've announced that they have American hostages."
Release the hostages, NOW, or else your homeland will be a smoking, radioactive glass mat for the next 20,000 years. And we could do it too.
Biden probably doesn't even know what a Palestine is.

If a protest has occurred peacefully for months, there's no justification at all for violence. An ad-hoc pro-terrorist rally on the other hand poses significant risk.

Good in theory...I was ready to mow those clowns down after 12 months! It was getting more violent every week, deros provoking cops, it was going to happen sooner or later.
While I dont agree with the protesters point of view in Sydney, I think they have the right to peaceful protest and it gives the shadow men a chance to get some data on the nutters in the country.
