Ok thanks, can you get them larger or does that become a bit more complicated?

Yes you can go as large as you like but it means mounting the dunny on top of a holding tank. This then begs the question "how to you empty it?" In a motorhome you drive to a dump point and use a short 3" diameter hose to dump directly into said dump point. But that's not always convenient and of course in a house not possible, so you can get a "wheelie bin" which is just cassette with wheels, unload the goodies and wheel it to a toilet or whatever. www.robgray.com/graynomad/articles/article_09/index.phpThe reason for not using chemicals is that you can just dump into any public toilet and not kill the bacteria in it's septic tank. ______ Rob

I've heard that if you get super stuck and you are on the move it's better to smear the poo thinly on a rock in the sun so it bakes all the nasties out than dig a hole. Apparently our poo is pretty nasty compared to animal poo so that's a more environmentally friendly option than burying it. Not a crash hot idea if you are going to hang around for a while though

AFAIK most animal poo (from herbivores) is quite benign, you can even eat it and/or squeeze the liquid from it to drink.
But carnivore poo and especially human poo is very dangerous, remember in Nam it was spread on Punji sticks to cause serious infection in any unfortunate that got stuck with one. I assume that without good medical attention it would be fatal.
