The only drama with blowing up satellites is it would render space travel and future rocket/satellite launches impossible due to the massive clouds of space debris floating around. The even named it "Kellser syndrome/effect"

As far as I'm concerned, all major utilities, like power generation, gas, water, dams, etc should be air-gapped to avoid any chance of outside hacking

www.reuters.com/technology/cybersecurity/fbi-says-chinese-hackers-preparing-attack-us-infrastructure-2024-04-18/Chinese government-linked hackers have burrowed into U.S. critical infrastructure and are waiting "for just the right moment to deal a devastating blow," FBI Director Christopher Wray said on Thursday. An ongoing Chinese hacking campaign known as Volt Typhoon has successfully gained access to numerous American companies in telecommunications, energy, water and other critical sectors, with 23 pipeline operators targeted, Wray said in a speech at Vanderbilt University.

Many of largest companies in the US are heavily invested in real estate, energy, pharmaceuticals, internet. The FANG stocks is what is keeping the internet alive. (Facebook, Amazon, Netflix, Google). Food processing is done at only a hand full of mega factories. Walmart is the world's largest company by revenue, according to the Fortune Global 500 list in October 2022.. Now closing stores in many of the democratic held cities due to extensive crime. Billion dollar shopping maul in NYC just closed due to crime - some rich guys will be feeling the pain. In the US, a lot of the mega corps and investment funds like blackrock and vanguard are buying up whole suburbs and becoming mega landlords and fixing the rental prices in their favour.

I believe the only impact we will see here is higher prices for fuel and any items that are, or can claimed to be, higher due to higher oil price. I have no doubt the supermarket duopoly here will raise prices on a range of items and blame it erroneously on higher oil prices. The poor will get poorer, the middle class will get poor and the rich will continue to profit. With the shipping challenges in the Suez canal; area, we are seeing at least a months additional shipping time added to sea freight out of Europe. Currently a lot of ships are diverting the long way around the cape of Africa, which also means the Somali pirates will be working overtime as well targeting ships in that area.

The media won't release the details of the ethnicity of the attacker (but you can have a good guess from the photo of him) nor will they release the motive to avoid causing another race divide in the community. It'll all be "lone attacker"

The US government is either deliberately trying to crash the economy (for either the hell of it lining their own pockets, doing the bidding of their globalist leaders or setting it up to destroy Trump for the next term) or they are just so inept and corrupt that they just keep pumping money into useless things to garner the kickback they get through their "consultants" and doners.

China Will Be Ready To Invade Taiwan By 2027, U.S. Admiral SaysAdm. John Aquilino, head of the Indo-Pacific Command, said Wednesday he believes China’s military will be prepared to invade Taiwan by 2027, meeting a goal U.S. military officials believe Chinese President Xi Jinping set to reunite Taiwan with China’s mainland with force if necessary. www.forbes.com/sites/tylerroush/2024/03/20/china-will-be-ready-to-invade-taiwan-by-2027-us-admiral-says/amp/Japan to build shelters on isles near Taiwan in case of attackThe government disclosed guidelines for the construction of underground shelters on outlying islands in Okinawa Prefecture in case of a military crisis involving Taiwan. The program follows a shift in defense posture that has seen the Self-Defense Forces moving anti-aircraft missile batteries and surface-to-ship missile launchers to the Nansei chain of islands that extend in a southwesterly direction from the main southern island of Kyushu. www.asahi.com/ajw/articles/15215063China has also built a full mock-up of the government district of Taipei for invasion training. They also have mockups of US aircraft carriers and ports for missile and bombing training.

usawatchdog.com/biden-8-approval-means-panic-war-martin-armstrong/Legendary financial and geopolitical cycle analyst Martin Armstrong has new data on President Biden’s approval numbers. Nearly two years ago, President Biden’s real job approval rating in America was just 12%. More than one year ago, the real Biden approval number slipped to 9.5% (and stayed there) according to Armstrong’s world renowned “Socrates” predictive computer program. Now, Biden’s rating tumbled again. Armstrong says, “It is basically hovering around 7.5% to 8% at this stage. I know this goes against the mainstream media, but if you look at Google, it is really politically motivated. . . . The other number you need to look at is the confidence in government, and it is at 28%. . . . This number is unheard of since World War II.

Even here in mining a good tradie is a hot commodity. Running around visiting sites all day for my fitting job, it's fairly common for me to get job offers at least once a month in person as well as emails from companies looking at my profile on Seek offering me jobs. I sold a roofcage off my car the other evening to a guy and he spent half an hour chatting about work and said to me I could name my price if I came and worked at his company servicing and repairing compressors in the mines which his dad is the owner.
As far as BHP, what they have done for the last 5 years is chase the ESG scores by making sure they hire majority female or aboriginal apprentices. All fair and well if they are serious about following the trade afterwards and not just doing it for 4yrs of fat pay cheques. When I was going to TAFE, one of the girls from another mine was bragging about how she had dragged her apprenticeship out for 6yrs by constantly getting pregnant and just dropping kids and staying on maternity leave for most of the time and still getting paid.

Australia trade routes will be over 60% lost if war in China. You can tank the Whitlam government for signing us up to the UN 1975 Lima Declaration that forced us to send our manufacturing sectors to third world countries for "wealth sharing" Added to that are the other UN/WEF originated red and green policies that have all but ensured there will be zero chance of any heavy industries getting setup again within Australia. And with the current race to get to this so called "zero emission" goal with totally relying on underwhelming output wind/solar generation while steering clear of genuine conversations around replacing the coal power plants with cleaner options like the nuclear option. With 2 large nuclear reactors built (east coast and west coast) you would have enough baseload generation to power the entire country on the national grid and not be required to bulldoze hundreds of thousands of acres of prime koala habitats and valuable farmland. I think in the NT they are building a mega solar farm, but all of the electricity of that will be sent directly to Malaysia via undersea cables.

The Baltimore port is now blocked in, including the naval base there with a couple of boats in dock. The ship lost all power before the collision. Ripe for conspiracy theories about a foreign power hacking the ship to shut it down....

That's why you use independent building inspectors to conduct during build inspections at the various stages of the build.

When the earth lets go in a quake, the rocks give out a pulse of electric, like a piezo effect of the gas igniter. This is detectable. I've monitored the Earths electric field, as opposed to its magnetic field, for over 40 years now and have a few observations that others might be interested in. My electrometer couldn't be simpler, a 6U7 radio valve, connected to a 5 meter well insulated wire sensing aerial, and to a + and - 800 v dc supply (as the discharges are both polarities), and an output, initially to a paper chart recorder, but then a 4 channel data logger and PC. 1) There are positive and negative lightning strikes, the positive ones are 10 X more powerful than the negative ones, but there are 10 X more negative ones to keep the charge balanced. 2) Some rain storms have no charge in them. 3) The earths electric field is usually several hundred volts positive, but is disturbed by various events, obviously electric storms can do it, but so can meteor ionization trails and....earthquakes. 4) The buildup to a storm is easily visible on the traces, well before its appearance on weather radar or even to an observer, sometimes days before a really severe storm. Useful after the collapse to predict the onset of bad weather, before thunder or clouds appear even. I was probably the only person who detected the Newcastle quake electrically, as a electric pulse due to the piezo electric effect. I also had a seismograph running at the same time, both feeding into a 2 channel chart recorder. When I got home that afternoon, I checked the readings out of interest. That's when I discovered that around 2 minutes AFTER the electric pulse, the earth moved at the farm at Yellow Rock. In other words, I had 2 minutes warning of the quake, more than enough time to seek safety if needed. I copied the charts and sent them off the the UNSW and the Beuro, wrote several papers that were published in various journals and.....nothing happened, zilch, naught, no one interested in such a simple method. I did take out several Australian Patients on the research though. Anyway, I'm still monitoring, sometimes, and learning. The future is like the present, only longer. Got any photos of your setup?

So quick one for the ground of my coop. Because it'll be built on top of a current garden that will be cleared, what is the best to cover the ground with for the areas inside the coop when the chooks will be scratching around? Should I leave it as the garden soil or should I lay pea gravel or something on top?

My sister sent me photos of her coop today for ideas. Hers is a simple wood frame about the size of those typical garden tin sheds and covered on the walls/roof in poly roofing sheets. She has a few roost bras in it and 2 laying boxes screwed to the wall on the inside with a ramp to them. There is no front wall to the shed part and opens to a run area that is about the same size as the shed part. With an open front like this is that viable for regards to the weather? Sorry with the stupid questions but I've been doing a lot of research for this project lol With regards to treated wood for the build, everybody says to avoid using it for the chemical leeching etc, but what other options do we have for wood as pretty much all Bunnings sells is variations of treated wood. I was thinking of using the black form ply for the box parts as its got the smooth sealed coat to reduce the mites issue compared to using regular ply or slats. With regards to weather protecting the wood, so many people on youtube are painting their coops, would non-toxic paint be a viable option? just to cover the weatherproofing side of things for the outside of the coop. I looked at the option of building the frame structure with steel box to reduce the amount of wood/termite proofing but it quickly came up to 3 times the price compared to building out of wood I used the old green treated pine for all the posts in the fences and as the main uprights for the night house/laying shelter. 18 years ... never a problem. The birds don't touch it. The only time the green CCA becomes a problem is when it's reduced to ash. The ash is full of nasty forms of arsenic and chromium.
If heat is an issue where you are I'd think twice about using polycarb on the structure. It makes a great greenhouse for plants so it will possibly overheat your chooks. My chooks used to love getting in under shade trees during the summer and scratching around in damp earth.
Yeah I was thinking of putting a whirlie bird on top of it to help with the heat, otherwise I can do a couple of inch air gap between the top of the walls and the roof sheet and fill with the mesh
