And don't forget the recent assassination attempt against the South Korean opposition leader last week.

Tesla do activate certain functionality depending on which state you are driving and legality of autopilot in the area you are in. If GPS goes out your location is lost as well as speed - GPS can take you to the wrong location if bushfires or snow storms interfere with signal. Global outage due to EMP could disable an EV, some preppers consider a EV/Tesla as prefect end of world vehicle for the apocalypse - I think problematic. "CCP also bring down the repeater stations relied on by the HAMsters?" EV can be remotely disabled and blocked from operating. They did it to all the tractors that the Russians stole from Ukraine, Bad Actors will most definitely do it to EV's in countries of interest. This is nothing to do with EVs other than that many of them are made in the CCP which presents a higher than usual risk for all cars made there. But since practically all new cars can be hacked, regardless of where they are made, it may be a moot point. The only cars independent of this are old cars. Even they will become useless once the petroleum supply chain disappears, which it will do very quickly. The only obvious way to avoid is by an EV conversion of an old car, without any of the wifi crap, and powered by your own home solar/battery setup. Outside of that, it's bicycles or horses. I read an article that stated the modern cars made in CHina like the MGs that everybody seems to love running around in now they are cheap actually have more lines on computer code in them than a 747 jumbo which upload data to chinese servers

I think we would quickly get sick of going to the polls every year. The man who never makes mistakes must get tired of doing nothing !! Isn't there a country in Europe that the people have the final vote on all government policies? basically a once a month referendum where the gov puts out all the details of the pro[posed new laws/bills and the people vote on them?

Still waiting for my Icom 7300 to be sent by Icom. The shipping container arrived this week and had to be receipted etc before they can ship them to the dealers, so if I'm lucky it'll turn up this week. Otherwise, I have my 2m/70cm dual bander for local comms if I can ever get anyone on it and I've got the UHF antenna rigged up, just got to pull my finger out and mount the radio on my radio shelf for local comms. Got a 10m antenna and roof mounting kit on the way as well which should arrive this week, I will have to wait until after xmas when I get back from holiday to mount up.

Term limits and annual elections would be the only way to motivate pollies to actually get in and do some work, as they would have to prove themselves every year rather than sitting pretty for 3-4yrs.

Most Australians are not prepared for outdoor, a bit concerning on the other hand, come trouble, few will be rushing off into the woods. 66% of Aussie's afraid to go on hikes. Number of persons needing rescue is a good indicator of accuracy of survey. Is the bush scaremongering getting to Aussie's. Can’t read a map or use a first aid kit: Australians lack hiking skills, survey showsamp.theguardian.com/australia-news/2023/dec/12/cant-read-a-map-or-use-a-first-aid-kit-australians-lack-hiking-skills-survey-showsAustralians’ outdoorsy reputation may not be earned when it comes to survival skills, according to a new survey. Just one in three Australians know how to deal with getting lost, while two in three Australians entirely reconsider going on trail walks due to safety concerns, according to research commissioned by popular hiking app AllTrails.
Only 38% of respondents felt confident with basic first aid when hiking. Only 6% felt confident in dealing with a bite from a snake or spider and 43% of those surveyed did not feel confident in knowing what to do if they encountered a dangerous animal. I doubt most people these days can read a UBD/referdex street maps, especially without turning the book to face the same way they are driving lol

Ding Dong, another biatch is gone. Palletofshyte resigns. The maggot that wouldn’t let me cross the border during Covid to see my dying mother. Good riddance. Don't jump just yet, her replacement is even worse. He couldn't organise a chook raffle at a scout jamboree.

N SW is staring down the barrel of a severe police shortage, with potential police recruits joining interstate police forces or giving up on their dream altogether because of prohibitively expensive entry requirements to join the NSW Police Force.www.pansw.org.au/knowledgebase/article/KA-01164President of the Police Association of NSW Kevin Morton said the situation is so dire in NSW that the next course scheduled to train new officers in NSW, scheduled for June, has already been cancelled because there weren’t enough applicants. On top of that, last time I checked, in NSW police recruits don't get [pauid while at the academy

You can't forget Australia Day. In which you watch boozed-up bogans wearing flags as capes try and pick fights with kith Kiwis and Islanders having a peaceful BBQ in the park with their families.

What could aliens do to us that our own government hasn’t already done? Lock us in our homes, or prevent us from travelling more than 5km, forcibly inject us with an unknown drug, prevent us from earning a living, or confiscating most of the fruits of our labour? The aliens will offer us free involuntary "probes" At least they won't tax us as hard as we get taxed now

Did some work on a Sydney radio station's transmitter site a number of years ago. We didn't need any extra lights for night time work, just held a 4 foot fluro lamp upright and daylight, all on pure RF power from the transmitter. Admittedly I think the output was 50 Kw, but still OHS would have kittens if we did the same today ! The original analogue system just worked, well. I had reliable phone comms over at least 50 km from high spots, but now the distance limit is not the RF power, but the data packets smashing into each other in opposite directions. This limits the ultimate range to 20 km I think, even if you can see the other person. Progress Colored glass will allow all colors of dark to pass through it except its own color. For example, red glass will allow all colors of dark to pass through except red dark. Thus a red darksucker leaves red dark behind.

I'm keen for the second series. Definitely was a great show! And in fairness Tim, I refuse to watch the Tom Cruise movie because he simply wasn't a good cast for Reacher in my opinion. He's a great actor (weird religious status aside) but the whole thing about Reacher is supposed to be that he's a huge bloke that somehow weirdly manages to blend in and disappear in a crowd. That is absolutely not Tom Cruise, no matter how cleverly angled shots and high cuban heals he wears🤣. Reacher is pretty much the only tom cruise movies I've watched since he went all scientology and got put off him, that and not letting the mission impossible series die off lol

Play nice guys. They have been fighting over that same land for the last 3000 years and will continue fighting it until it becomes scorched earth.
