The knives are just for 'looks' in case of being 'approached' so don't have to last or serve any other purpose. If this is a genuine BOB (ie. the S has HTF) what will you do when you do actually need the knife to serve a real purpose? Check out any article or blog post on BOBs etc, and you'll find a quality full tang knife at just about the top of every list. In Dave Canterbury's 'Five C's of Survival' it's the first thing listed. Oops, my bad. The knives are for secreting around the house and acreage not for the BOBs. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I'll ensure that I read the relevant threads.

Thanks for the responses guys. I'm looking at new BOB / packs that are light (that will be packed light as well). I have for many years owned a MacPac Cascade but it's heavy initially at 3.5kg (and rather bright in colour) and would like to go down to a 1.5kg pack or thereabouts.

Wondering if anyone has bought through this eBay seller before? Seems to a great range of goods at pretty good prices, too. Question: how does one get in contact with these types if there are no contact details available??
Cheers.

This is our kitchen garden as of this morning. Here we are growing broad and French beans, eggplant, tomato, radish, swede, lettuce, capsicum, chilli, cucumber, Thai and Sweet basil, leeks, onions, cabbage, cauliflower, Asian greens, kiwifruit, kale, celery, beets, spinach, and pineapples. There is also a raised bed of carrots, spring onions and radish that's hiding behind the row of comfrey. The sickly looking yellow shite is some not-so-RoundUp-proof kikuyu - we're extending the garden. There is also a larger garden at the tea of this pic which has all our potatoes, asparagus and Jerusalem artichokes growing, and behind that even further in the paddock I have a 1/16 acre plot of maize and sorghum (pig fodder and clucker tucker. To the right of the pic are four cut-down gal rainwater tanks that grow zucchini and brassicas and on the fence line still further right I have peas and brown onions. There is a small orchard you can see towards the rear of the pic and behind that on the fence line we grow cane berries, and besides the full-size apricot all the orchard trees are dwarf stock. The other side of the green shed is the main orchard of full-size trees (and strawberries, pumpkins, squash and broad beens). Along the back of the house we have sunflowers (more clucker tucker), strawberries, table grapes, herbs, horseradish, edible cannas (Arrowroot). More fruit trees are down the front yard along with Shiraz grapes. I think that's all we have growing at the moment. Planning to expand to a lot more production later this year by taking over the back paddock to crops like: oats, maize, sorghum, potatoes, onions, sweetcorn, peas, beans, etc and maybe even more comfrey. And lots of green manure crops to feed the soil, the compost, the chooks, and the worm farms. Cheers all from Veg.

Bugger, it was too! Sorry matey's. New to the forum and the user names get a bit muddled in my silly old head at times. The electrics will be switched off tonight as I as I said (need a repair anyway) so .... fingers crossed no hits in the wee small hours. Mr .243 is always on standby; my theory is - large calibre = no coming back!! The .17HMR sure works just isn't the same Veg.

Hey Joey, the dimensions of the trap are 1120mm long x 540mm high x 460mm wide.
Hope that helps??
FRUCTUS .... bought a FoxLight yesterday and to test its effectiveness I'll be switching off the electric wires tonight (fingers crossed says he).

Hi guys, just a quick post. Here's a link to an Aussie supplier of the Tattler lids: www.redbacktrading.com.au/index1.htmlAnd, I'll post a pic later in the day of the back of my Ball Mason jar cardboard box as the writing and instructions are different to that shown in the video above done by BexarPrepper. I haven't had time to research the Tattler lids much but on first indication it appears that the Tattler rings are reusable. If that's the case that's another plus for them! Stayed tuned for more updates. The Veg.

Hi Joey, yes the trigger is a simple rod with bait tied to it. I'll measure the trap up this arvo when i return my foraging this morning. I didn't make it, an old mate down the road did. He passed away last year and I kind of inherited that trap. So far it has accounted for quite a few ferals
