Lol, dont worry mate, youre not saying anything im not ^_^ and im glad you whacked them, somebody needs to remind them that they cant get away with being careless or cruel imho that 1080 should be banned. Too many native animals die, too many dogs are baited with it, and as you showed (and i dont have the heart to watch, i know its a shockingly bad way to go)... if people really cared about the welfare of the animal being culled, theyd promote shooting. Its not their fault they were introduced to an ecosystem not used to them, theyre just trying to survive like we would in the same situation.

Well, because its a potential business venture im keeping that private, XP as far as i know its not intended for rock climbing, but can be used for it if needed or for abseiling, thats why i thought id try something that could take a persons weight safely, but the price to add to something that would use $15 worth of paracord, just makes me wonder if its not worthwhile for ppl to buy inc the added cost, you know? Becaise the cheapest ones i have found atm that are climbing approved are $7 each, ( many of my plans will need 2) but gal steel ones from the hardware shop (8mm thickness, 8cm long) are half that price tops... just wondering if you and others have any better ideas for clips or if you would be happy to pay extra for the better quality product?

Um, i know its not the most popular part of the bob, but instead of toilet paper, those packs of moist toilet wipes are far more compact, and far more sanitary... lol

wow, clearly this is a pretty heated topic! just my 2 cents, i actually had quite an argument with a effing townie recently, she was *soooooo* against hunting of all kinds. so i said, well, do you prefer baiting then? as that is actually far less humane and is quite a horrid way to go!, she said, oh, no, i dislike that too, so i retorted with, so what, let introduced pests destroy our farms and bushland? is that preferable to you? by this stage she well n truly had both feet in her mouth, she had talked her way into a corner where she had to admit that hunting was a better alternative than the other two options, but her big mouth and even bigger ego didnt want to admit she was wrong! lol
also, with those hunts in south africa, the income from them goes to controlled breeding. they breed from a lioness, take the cubs so she can breed again, and give the cubs to raisers who use them for photo opportunities. the whole system is corrupt beyond a joke. there is no actual interest in conservation, beyond breeding animals to be shot, that have no natural fear of humans, as they were RAISED by them, have no chance to escape or fight back, to me its about as pathetic as having a cage fight with a person in a wheelchair. anything anyone who participates in these pathetic pseudo hunts is trying to prove is proved in reverse. it proves they are not real hunters, have no real skill, no real guts. if they were on fire n i had a bottle of water, id rather sit n drink n watch them burn, or tip it out while they watch, out of sheer contempt for their pathetic excuse for hunting.... sorry, rant over... lol

btw, best advice i ever got, is to never barter anything that whoever youre trading with can kill or injure you with, so no ammo or weapons of any kind. if they want food, snares and fishing equip, or yabby nets. they dont need a gun, bow etc to feed themselves.

just my 2 cents worth, before shtf a safe or several hidey holes with fundage is ideal, as are things that are readily sellable, like jewellery etc. for post shtf, precious metals and gems will be worth about the same as dirt n rocks imo, so best to stock up on barter goods like fishing supplies, snares, seeds etc, even things you may not consider, like soap, and disposable razors, cloth, yarn, thread and needles. even if you cant utilise them to their best, others may be willing to trade for them (for example, moi!) and best case scenario, you can take from them any time you need oh, another good thing may be those little usb solar chargers for mobiles etc, theyre useful for a plethora of gadgets, for you and for trade

ok, heres a question, as im considering making a few things with paracord for myself and friends, would they NEED to have carabiners suitable for rock climbing etc (as they are rather pricey to add to a lead for just in case for example), or would the ones from a hardware suffice if they needed to be used in shtf situations? or are there better options? its just that i want ALL parts to be functional even if disassembled. thanks in advance

Great find! Yeah, many of the general population are completely vapid and brainwashed into consumerism, that nothing matters so long as they have nice clothes, nice make up, nice car, etc. That they NEED those things to be valuable. Those who prep (mostly) i have noticed, quickly learn their real worth. Things they can do, not about having top dollar x, the latest y, or most popular z. Its about what is FUNCTIONAL. And THAT is a huge wakeup call when first realising true worth sadly many wont realise until its too late, and they have nothing but pretties, no skills, no food, nothing. Others are learning, slowly, but still assume the govt will provide for and protect them. That infuriates me frankly. But those ones are just on step from becoming awakened to prepearing, and taking responsibility for themselves. Dont lose hope. Just a year ago i too was in the "anxious but has no idea if what to do to prepare/thinking all preppers were like the nutjobs on tv" catagory too, and we are spreading. I keep pushing loved ones to think about it, to look at disasters and wars going on. Theyre catching on
