Question, why do you need a license to use a ham radio, and if the shtf, will it really matter if you have a lic?

Lol, not just in the middle east *theyre all around us.....* lol XD theyre also known as those who believe mass media and trust that everything the govornments do is for their benefit, dont mind skaving for a wage to make others wealthy, lol XD But yeah, im a zombie nut, i cant shower of a night anymore, cause i always imagine one faceplanting on the bathroom window and creep myself out with scenarios in my head, then its no longer relaxing lol i looooved dawn of the dead, res evil... ) Hey, whats everyones fave type of zombie? The slow ones, the sprinters, or the semi intelligent ones? mine is the sprinter XD

Imho it largely depends on location, where i am now? I think i would bug in, simply because my town is not a priority for anyone, whether to defend, nor attack. The biggest threat for me is the locals if some of them think to go looting, but my house looks almost abandoned most of the time, so i have no doubts that with the windows boarded up, they would be dumb to bother, especially if on the boards i made sure to make some sort of quarantine warning plus the dog is a pretty good warning system for if anyone is sniffing around hopefully in the next few years i will have my ideal hermit/bug in house anyhow XD

Funny that, everyone busts my ass for letting the front of my house look as derelict as i can possibly let it, from the street it looks like the sort of house you dont want to break into because the risks outweigh any potential gains and theres almost always shoes out the front, whether my bf is working or not, so nobody can be sure whether anyones home or not XD im also big on those decorative security screens, and my no. 1 fave home security measure is home surveilance, pretty affordable these days, and its good just to see if anyone is taking more than a passing interest in your home, or lurking about etc

oh i already know that, what better way to make productive, adult slaves to the wage, indoctrinated to work to make someone else wealthy than to kill their spirit in school?

well, as they last fairly well for a few years of use, and are highly absorbant, one could even stash them in case an unplanned little bundle comes along, or for when your kids have kids of their own down the track, or if you are in a community, its highly likely there will be babies either from the get go, or after a year or two... and the bamboo or hemp fibre inserts (the absorbant bit) make amazing travel towels or dressings for wounds, etc...

well, not so much the tent etc, but i was brought up in a farming family, visited my uncles farm quite often (which my mum and her siblings grew up on) and it teaches you a few things, like to have veggie patches, orchards, some poultry for eggs and meat, and from there you can add whatever you want. to always have supplies for home repairs on hand, to have the knowhow to do those repairs etc and to always have a full pantry of staples like flour, grains, canned goods, and a well stocked freezer good additions if prepping is some sheep or alpacca (for both wool and meat) a couple of cows and a bull, or a few goats, for fresh milk every day etc. if you are in an urban setting, look into permablitzing your yard if you want eggs but space is tight, try quail, or bantam hens

i know we have talked about food etc, but what about the other end, where it comes out? do you use/store modern cloth nappies? stockpile disposables? or do something they do in many of the poorer parts of the world, EC training (elimination communication), where your child learns almost from birth go go (with assistance) in the toilet/on the ground etc? just thought it would be worth talking about

how about making watching your preferred news mandatory family time, record it if possible, and to keep them engaged, pause, and ask them why they think x is happening, what can be done to help anyone suffering, what we can do to prepare incase it happens? i know that when i was a teen i honestly couldnt have cared less about the news. i was (and still am) a gamer, but that changed when i had kids for some reason. but to get them engaged, make it something you all do together, make them think, and idk, chuck in something to sweeten the deal like icecream or something as a lure the first few times XD

whoops, wolfstar made a derp XD well, imo its important to store text books etc for one thing, another is that as you said, we should teach the things our kids find interesting, student led education if you will they still need to learn some things that are useful even if they dont like them, but the majority of the curriculum should be based on what they are enjoying. thats how come people with aspergers are often so brilliant, they are ceaselessly fascinated to often obsession by just a few things imagine if we all taught our kids that way, what amazing minds we could nurture, instead of genising them in the school system?
